Disclaimer:
Due to the large amount of sermons and topics that appear on this site I feel it is necessary to post this disclaimer on all sermons posted. These sermons are original to the author and the leading of the Holy Spirit. While ideas and illustrations are often gleaned from many sources including those at Sermoncentral.com, any similarities and wording including sermon title, that may appear to be the same as any other sermon are purely coincidental. After preaching for over thirty years not all resources used can I recall. I honor all those that have spoken into my life and helped me along this journey. Blessings! Pastora EC
Nothing Can Stop You
Acts 28:30-31--And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.
AMP--preaching and proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all openness and boldness, unhindered and unrestrained
.
J B Phillips--the utmost freedom and without hindrance from anyone.
Jubilee Bible--with all liberty, without hindrance.
NIV--with all boldness and without hindrance!
I read for you the last two verses of the last chapter in Acts.
Acts concludes with a rather interesting word. The word is not apparent in our King James Version, which I read from, but if you will put in brackets the last four words of the book, you will see the words “no man forbidding him.” This is actually the translation of one word in the original language. “unhindered”
Acts 1:8—But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
He has traced the movement of the Christian faith from its beginning in the city of Jerusalem all the way to the place where it is now planted in the city of Rome. I think it is a word of completion.
He is saying, “unhindered. I have accomplished my purpose.”
It is like a shout of triumph—unhindered!
Paul is a prisoner, but the Word of God is not bound—unhindered.
Nero is on the throne, but God is still on His throne—unhindered.
It is a word of completion.
No man could hinder the work of the Lord going forward.
It not only a word of completion, but I think it is a word of continuation.
You find in the book of Acts what the Lord intends for the church of the Lord Jesus Christ to be doing.
So it is a word of continuation. The Lord is saying—here’s what I want churches to do.
In one sense of the word, you and I should be writing an Acts 29.
LCI should be writing a chapter in the history of the Christian church—moving forward, nothing hindering.
Moving forward- unstoppable
2 Peter 1:3--According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
We have been trained to believe that when we have a great service to expect a great trial or battle with the adversary. If we can understand the enemy has no power to do anything.
Everything we need to live in victory has already been provided.
Romans 8:35-39-- Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:31--what shall we then say to these things; If God be for us who can be against us.
“If God is working on our behalf (and He is), then who could succeed in opposing us?”
His point is that no adversary or enemy is of any account when God is for us.
When God is on your side, nobody can stop you; sickness cannot stop you, poverty cannot stop you, because in Exodus 15:26 the great physician Himself said I am the Lord that heals you.
Psalm 124:1--If it had not been the Lord who was on our side
Nothing can stop you
Romans 13:1--Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
