Not Fearing Because Of Who I Serve
Deuteronomy 33:16-19
26 ¶ There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.
27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.
28 Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew.
29 Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places. {found...: or, subdued}
I have entitled this today: Not Fearing Because Of Who I Serve
In verse 26 it says: There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, this means the upright one.
Then it says: who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.
The God we serve is an upright God and He is far above the redicuolous idol Gods of thr heathon nations.
Deuteronomy 33:27
27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them
God is the dwelling place of His people; over us is His sheltering protection, and underneath us is the support of His everlasting arms.
This verse says that God will thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, destroy them.
When Satan or one of His imps comes against you, you don’t have to worry God has got your back.
When the enemy starts to make accusations against you remember what the Word says.
Isa 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
Are you a servant of the Lord, if you are this is your heritage?
We need to remember what else the Word of God says;
Isa 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
When God speaks something it will not return unto Him void but it will accomplish that which God pleases.
God and His Word are not dead but very much alive and active in the situations that we go through.
So when the Word says that God is our refuge then that is what He is.
When the Word says The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them that is what He means.
Jeshurun had an understanding of how the upright one worked.
He had an understanding that if he would put God first in his walk then God was going to show up and He wouuld thrust out the enemy.
Ps 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. {a good...: or, good success}
Pr 1:7 ¶ The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. {the beginning: or, the principal part}
Jeshurun apparently understood what it meant to have a proper fear of the Lord.
Do we have a proper fear of the Lord?
If we do then we will listen to what Psalm 111:10 says: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. {a good...: or, good success}
Duetronomy 33: 28-29
28 Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew.
29 Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places. {found...: or, subdued}
All of these things stated are predictions given by the Holy Spirit through Moses.
Moses was able to look beyond the present time and into the distannt future to the day in which Israel will at long last fully accept the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, her Messiah and her Lord.
