Ephesians 6:6 (King James Version)

Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

A. Not as menpleasers, with eyeservice

"Not in the way of eye-service [as if they were watching you] and only to please men,"

Philippians 2:12 (Amplified Bible)

Therefore, my dear ones, as you have always obeyed [my suggestions], so now, not only [with the enthusiasm you would show] in my presence but much more because I am absent, work out (cultivate, carry out to the goal, and fully complete) your own salvation with reverence and awe and trembling (self-distrust, with serious caution, tenderness of conscience, watchfulness against temptation, timidly shrinking from whatever might offend God and discredit the name of Christ).

We obey much more because of the absence of physical bosses, because that's the time we are judged by GOD - the Real Boss, that is in the background, the Real Judge - who judges our work as gold or silver.

1 Corinthians 3:12-15 (Amplified Bible)

But if anyone builds upon the Foundation, whether it be with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw,

The work of each [one] will become [plainly, openly] known (shown for what it is); for the day [of Christ] will disclose and declare it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test and critically appraise the character and worth of the work each person has done.

If the work which any person has built on this Foundation [any product of his efforts whatever] survives [this test], he will get his reward.

But if any person’s work is burned up [under the test], he will suffer the loss [of it all, losing his reward], though he himself will be saved, but only as [one who has passed] through fire.

Our work must be satisfying to the Judge Himself, the LORD JESUS, we work and build in excellence not in mediocre, that this worldly unbelievers are working for their bosses, they only work when the boss is around, they are like mices (according to them, and they are because they thought of it) that are playing when the cat is not around. Sadly, but true. That's why the boss need to assign look overs, people that always watch and spy.

Colossians 3:22 (Amplified Bible)

Servants, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not only when their eyes are on you as pleasers of men, but in simplicity of purpose [with all your heart] because of your reverence for the Lord and as a sincere expression of your devotion to Him.

1 Thessalonians 2:4 (Amplified Bible)

But just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the glad tidings (the Gospel), so we speak not to please men but to please God, Who tests our hearts [expecting them to be approved].

B. But as servants of CHRIST - doing GOD'S will from the heart

"but as servants (slaves) of Christ, doing the will of God heartily and with your whole soul;"

IX. CONCLUSION:

Praise, worship, glorify, adore, bless, honor, acknowledge and thank You very much LORD JESUS for You are the Judge who sees everything and You see my hard work and my toil in my job working my whole heart on it as for You and not unto men, You will reward and promote me.
