VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Unlike human high priests, CHRIST never offered Himself regularly again and again

"Nor did He [enter into the heavenly sanctuary to] offer Himself regularly again and again,"

Human high priests needed to do this ritual on a yearly basis which reminded them of punishment for sin in the old testament were not forgiven but only covered.

Hebrews 9:7 (Amplified Bible)

9:7 But into the second [division of the tabernacle] none but the high priest goes, and he only once a year, and never without taking a sacrifice of blood with him, which he offers for himself and for the errors and sins of ignorance and thoughtlessness which the people have committed.

Hebrews 9:10 (Amplified Bible)

9:10 For [the ceremonies] deal only with clean and unclean meats and drinks and different washings, [mere] external rules and regulations for the body imposed to tide the worshipers over until the time of setting things straight [of reformation, of the complete new order when Christ, the Messiah, shall establish the reality of what these things foreshadow—a better covenant].

Leviticus 4:3 (Amplified Bible)

4:3 If it is the anointed priest who sins, thus bringing guilt on the people, then let him offer for his sin which he has committed a young bull without blemish to the Lord as a sin offering.

Hebrews 7:27-28 (Amplified Bible)

7:27 He has no day by day necessity, as [do each of these other] high priests, to offer sacrifice first of all for his own [personal] sins and then for those of the people, because He [met all the requirements] once for all when He brought Himself [as a sacrifice] which He offered up.

7:28 For the Law sets up men in their weakness [frail, sinful, dying human beings] as high priests, but the word of [God’s] oath, which [was spoken later] after the institution of the Law, [chooses and appoints as priest One Whose appointment is complete and permanent], a Son Who has been made perfect forever.

Notice this, the priest sinned, and yet the people bear his guilt, so it's important that the priest or high priest is sinless which is impossible for they are all human beings. CHRIST, our Great High Priest is Sinless Perfection.

B. Unlike human high priests, CHRIST entered Heaven with His own blood

"as the high priest enters the [Holy of] Holies every year with blood not his own"

Hebrews 9:26 (Amplified Bible)

9:26 For then would He often have had to suffer [over and over again] since the foundation of the world. But as it now is, He has once for all at the consummation and close of the ages appeared to put away and abolish sin by His sacrifice [of Himself].

Hebrews 10:10 (Amplified Bible)

10:10 And in accordance with this will [of God], we have been made holy (consecrated and sanctified) through the offering made once for all of the body of Jesus Christ (the Anointed One).

1 Peter 3:18 (Amplified Bible)

3:18 For Christ [the Messiah Himself] died for sins once for all, the Righteous for the unrighteous (the Just for the unjust, the Innocent for the guilty), that He might bring us to God. In His human body He was put to death, but He was made alive in the spirit,

IX. CONCLUSION:

Thank You very much, LORD JESUS, for You died for me once and for all, and Your death meant life for me, now I am GOD's Righteousness in and through CHRIST.

2 Corinthians 5:21 (Amplified Bible)

5:21 For our sake He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become [endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God [what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness].
