This sermon aims to explore the story of Noah as a lesson in obedience and faith, and how we can apply these principles to live faithfully in our modern lives.
Good morning, church family. Let's delve into a transformative journey today, as we explore God's call to obedience, Noah's faithful response, and how we can live faithfully in obedience today. As Oswald Chambers, a well-known Christian evangelist once said, "The golden rule for understanding spiritually is not intellect, but obedience."
Our guide today is a part of scripture that many of us have heard since we were children, Genesis 6:5-22. [Read text.]
The tale of Noah is more than just a story about a massive flood, a boat full of animals, and a rainbow. It's about obedience, faith, and the journey of a man who listened to God, even when the world around him did not.
Let's bow our heads in prayer. Father God, we come before You today to express our gratitude for Your Word that guides us in our day-to-day lives. As we explore the call to obedience today through the story of Noah, we ask that You open our hearts and minds to the lessons You have for us. Help us to understand and to implement these teachings in our lives, so that we may walk in faithfulness just as Noah did. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
