No Turning Back

Summary: Just because you did not get some stuff does not mean you turn back, just because you’re prayers were unanswered does not mean you quit church, just because you were not healed does not mean you walk out on God! Press forward!
Luke 9:62” Jesus replied, "No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God."
Too late to withdraw! You have come far too long to quit! I pray that you will be blessed and encouraged by this devotion. You are an overcomer, a warrior and a child of the Living God! Let not adverse circumstances or failures deter and dissuade you from your mission to attain success and victory! Hurray! Let me give you a simple illustration and explain this:
My husband and son had gone out to buy some stuff required to make cake and pasta; my children have been pleading for home-made cakes for three days, after church, I was all beans, drenched under the anointing and in a super mood to cook! OK. I went ahead mixing the ingredients for cake: sugar was powdered, eggs were beaten and suddenly I found my son and husband return back with a long face! No butter! Few other things were missing too, I don’t want to bore you with that stuff, coming back to cake, I was half way through, the mixed stuff would go waste, so what now? I said a small prayer and kept moving. Prayer for cake? Why not? Surround yourself with prayer and His presence and watch God unfold peace and joy in your home!
I used the stuff I had at home and moved forward with panache, I mixed green and orange for the coloring and made a simple tea cake which turned out to be spongy, delicious and yummy; not to forget the pasta! I used the leftover sauces in the fridge and made the pasta too! With God everything turns out victorious, glorious and sumptuous! Here’s the pic of my ‘MISSION CAKE AND PASTA!’
Friend, “God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. “ ( 2 Timothy 1:7) Friend, I started this devotion on a lighter and colorful note talking about cakes and pastas, but the core message is serious! Please understand here, walking with God till the end is tough, tedious and only the tenacious ones can make it! Are you listening? Just because you did not get some stuff does not mean you turn back, just because you’re prayers were unanswered does not mean you quit church, just because you were not healed does not mean you walk out on God! Press forward!
I have to tell you what happened before making the cake and make you understand the success behind the kitchen mission. I got severe, excruciating pain on Friday evening, since I have had two operations earlier, folks at home got scared and worried. Everybody prayed for me and I went to bed, wondering what about the sermon on Sunday! The pain diminished but did not vanish, though. I attended the Saturday fasting prayer with just bread and tea, kept moving on with prayer. Did not arrange for an alternate speaker but kept praying, Saturday night I heard the sweet voice of my Jesus giving me scriptures for my message the next day. I woke up in the wee hours of Sunday morning, prayed hard and marched forward to preach the message and work for my Lord! Boy! The anointing flowed! None except my family knew about the sickness, it was not over with that, I came home and made the cakes and pastas! Now, I guess you can understand God’s Hands behind the mission cake! Do not slacken, keep moving forward!
