Summary: Satan can take us out of the church but he can’t take the church out of us. Learn how people in the Bible said no to Satan and to sin. When we say say no to satan and to sin God will bless us beyong measure.

Because Daniel did not want to defile himself look what happened in verse 9....God brought Daniel into favor with the prince of the eunuchs. God was watching over him. We need some Christians that will stand up for God and quit falling down every time the devil comes along.

You say what does defile mean? I looked it up in Webster’s Dictionary and it says to make filthy.

Here’s something I think will help you in Isaiah 64:6 “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” I came to realize this week that often times when we don’t make the mark that we feel like God wants us to, we feel like we’ve failed God. Often times we feel like if we get a little bit of sin in our life that we’ve really failed God or that we have to go all the way back and start all over again. You ever felt like that? You say, I’ve messed up and I’m a child of God. Why did I do that? Now I have to start all over. You don’t have to start all over. Christ paid for your sins on the cross of Calvary. All we have to do is ask God to forgive us. And he’ll forgive us. Here’s what blesses my heart. The Bible says that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. He said I came not to call the righteous but sinners unto repentance. We started out in the filthy condition. And Christ died for us while we were in that condition. When we’re at that point, don’t you think he wants us to be better? He wants us to do better and Satan wants to bring us down. The only reason why we’re anything is by His Saving Grace.

Mark 7:15 says “There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.” Let me give you an illustration of what I’m talking about. If you were to come to some gambling casino and you saw me walking out...I know what the first thing is that you would think. The old devil would tell you that you’re pastor is a gambler. But just because I was in a casino, it doesn’t make me a gambler. I might have stopped in there to use the restroom or to have witnessed to somebody. Just being around somebody that gambles, doesn’t make me a gambler. But if you come in that casino and you see me sitting there pulling the slot handles and feeding my families money to it...you can mark it down in your book...I’m in sin and I’m a gambler. You know why? Because it came out of me. It wasn’t what was around me. You can drive down the road and see me coming out of a liquor store and it don’t mean I’m an alcoholic. The Bible says that when lust hath conceived it brings forth sin and sin when it is finished brings forth death. Now if you see me coming out sipping on a long neck Budweiser....you can mark it in your book that I’m an alcoholic. There’s some Christians that say it’s okay to drink. I haven’t ever found that in the Bible. You better read the book of Proverbs. A preacher said once that if it takes ten beers to make you drunk then you’re one tenth drunk. It’ll not do your mind any good or your heart any good. Stay away from those earthly things and don’t defile your body. Enjoy yourself in what God has.
