No One Thought Much Of Our Love

by

Dr. Gale A. Ragan-Reid (10/15/2013)

“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height: And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen” (Ephesians 3:17-21, King James Version [the great love of Christ]).

Greetings in the Holy Name of Christ Jesus,

How about that faith! Remember Luther Ingram (1979) sang the old Rhythm and Blues (R&B) soul song:

“If loving you is wrong...

I don't want to be right

If being right means living without you

I'd rather live wrong than right

My Mama and Daddy say "It's a shame..."

"It's a downright disgrace"

But as long as I've got you by my side

I don't care what my people say

My friends tell me there's no future

In lovin' a married man

If I can't see you when I want...

I'll see you when I can

Bridge:

If loving you is wrong, I don't want to be right

If loving you is wrong, I don't want to be right

Am I wrong to fall

So deeply in love with you...

Knowing you've got a wife and two little children

Depending on you too

Am I wrong to hunger

For the gentleness of your touch...

Knowing you've got someone else at home

Who needs you just as much

Chorus:

Am I wrong to give my love

To a married man?

Am I wrong for trying to hold on

To the best thing I've ever had?

If loving you is wrong...I don't want to be right

If loving you is wrong...I don't want to be right

2

Repeat Chorus:

I don't want to be right...if it means living without you

I don't want to be right...if it means sleeping alone at night

I don't want to be right

If loving you is wrong...I don't want to be right

If loving you is wrong...No, I don't want to be right”

Brothers and sisters, sometimes the songs in the world outside of faith are clues to guide you to the faith of Christ Jesus. Sometimes, the spirit of those working in the world, although outside of faith, might be filled with the Holy Ghost spirit and you can hear it in song. Obviously, the gift of song moves you and soothes you to draw nigh to Christ Jesus with subtle truths of how living in the world outside of Christ misuses you. Who are you married to and I am not talking about who you are living with?

I am asking you, who are you married to? If, you say you are married to Christ Jesus, then you deny the man you are with and if you say you are married to the man you live with then you short change Christ Jesus. If you say you are with the man who you do not live with then again you give Christ Jesus a part of your love. If you give Christ Jesus a part of your love then is your love spiritual? Is the man you are with, spiritual?

Let Christ use you to do God's business and run your course; falling in line to press on to the mark of the high calling. One reflection came upon me about my friend and that thought was, no one thought much of our love. What we shared were a lot of little things? There were a whole lot of little moments but they all added up. Yes, all the little things added up.

Pray with me. Dear God, “Forever hold me in your tender loving embrace and forget me not. Let me feel your love and let me know your love always.” During your faith walk was your love for Christ questioned by others? Did some of the bible thumping believers deny that Christ abides in you? Did you look in the mirror and question yourself because of their unbelief in your faith and denial of the spirit of Christ Jesus that dwells in you?

Did the naysayers deny the wonder that manifested from your works, of Christ Jesus? In relationships, finding truth is what we all searched for in our unspoken quests--- that was why you started out searching in the flesh, however, if you could just get beyond your flesh, then, enter into the spirit, there in the spirit was where you discovered the truth of love. You see, no one thought much of my love and no one thought much of my relationship. Is Christ Jesus your friend? My relationship with my friend was a simple relationship, free of the trappings of life.
