I. EXORDIUM:

Do you pray night and day?

II. AUDIENCE PROFILE:

Believers

III. OBJECTIVES:

To prove that urgency of our prayers and it requires us that we pray night and day.

IV. TEXT:

1 Thessalonians 3:10 (Amplified Bible)

[And we] continue to pray especially and with most intense earnestness night and day that we may see you face to face and mend and make good whatever may be imperfect and lacking in your faith.

V. THESIS:

Prayer is very urgent, it requires night and day praying. Pray for two things: (1) our presence and availabilities in meetings and worship services and, (2) what's lacking in our faith

VI. TITLE:

Night and day prayer

VII. EXPLICATION:

A. Author: Apostle Paul

B. Date written: 49 to 54 B.C. but uncertain

C. Purpose: to comfort believers and encourage them to a life of purity

D. To whom written: Thessalonica church

E. Main themes: Most personal of all of Paul's epistles

F. Keyword: Sanctification

1 Thessalonians 4:3 (Amplified Bible)

For this is the will of God, that you should be consecrated (separated and set apart for pure and holy living): that you should abstain and shrink from all sexual vice,

G. Key verses:

1 Thessalonians 3:12-13 (Amplified Bible)

And may the Lord make you to increase and excel and overflow in love for one another and for all people, just as we also do for you,

So that He may strengthen and confirm and establish your hearts faultlessly pure and unblamable in holiness in the sight of our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) with all His saints (the holy and glorified people of God)! Amen, (so be it)!

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 (Amplified Bible)

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud cry of summons, with the shout of an archangel, and with the blast of the trumpet of God. And those who have departed this life in Christ will rise first.

Then we, the living ones who remain [on the earth], shall simultaneously be caught up along with [the resurrected dead] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so always (through the eternity of the eternities) we shall be with the Lord!

Therefore comfort and encourage one another with these words.

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Pray most earnestly

"[And we] continue to pray especially and with most intense earnestness night and day"

Earnestly is exceedingly where 3 Greek words used meaning "over", "superabundant", "superior", "excessive", "violently", "preeminence"

There's a prayer that exceeds and is over and above, exceedingly and superabundant excessiveness in praying but still you can pray it.

Psalms 119:147 (Amplified Bible)

I anticipated the dawning of the morning and cried [in childlike prayer]; I hoped in Your word.

Acts 10:2 (Amplified Bible)

A devout man who venerated God and treated Him with reverential obedience, as did all his household; and he gave much alms to the people and prayed continually to God.

1 Thessalonians 3:10 (Amplified Bible)

[And we] continue to pray especially and with most intense earnestness night and day that we may see you face to face and mend and make good whatever may be imperfect and lacking in your faith.

B. We may see each other again

"that we may see you face to face"

Our mere presence in our worship services, spiritual gatherings and fellowship makes one another strong in the faith.

Hebrews 10:25 (Amplified Bible)

Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching.

2 Corinthians 11:28 (Amplified Bible)

And besides those things that are without, there is the daily [inescapable pressure] of my care and anxiety for all the churches!

2 Corinthians 12:20 (Amplified Bible)

For I am fearful that somehow or other I may come and find you not as I desire to find you, and that you may find me too not as you want to find me—that perhaps there may be factions (quarreling), jealousy, temper (wrath, intrigues, rivalry, divided loyalties), selfishness, whispering, gossip, arrogance (self-assertion), and disorder among you.

C. Supply what is lacking in faith

"and mend and make good whatever may be imperfect and lacking in your faith"

GOD's Presence in us "repairs" and supplies what is lackin in faith in our brethren's lives.

Romans 12:11 (Amplified Bible)

Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord.

James 1:4 (Amplified Bible)

But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.

Philippians 4:19 (Amplified Bible)

And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
