New Year: A Second Chance For Leaders
Contributed by Ricky Maye on Dec 30, 2010 (message contributor)
Summary: The New Year presents us with a second chance to Give more, help more and love even more in such a tangable way.
How would God start off the New Year?
All of the churches I have had the pleasure of being a part of had the same tradition of either unveiling a new mission statement or slogan to start the year off with a new focus.
Most of the time this usually is divided into reaching the world, community and the congregation and somewhere in there elegantly throwing the great commission in there somewhere.
All of us are products of evangelism, we are here reading this because someone spoke into us what God spoke into them.
Encourage those around you to not forget the basic principle of our faith which is the telling of the Love of a God who would not even stop at giving his own son for a guilty people.
God created, made, and breathed. The answer to the question why could never really be answered in one breath. He saw the need, he had a vision and moved on his hopes.
He reached out to a place not like his own, a broken, desolate place and started forming, creating, and building and teaching.
This New Year presents a new opportunity, a second chance to finish the reclaiming of neighborhoods, the rebuilding of the widows houses, the mentoring of all those children who are searching for a role model.
This year let us accomplish more than the last for the Kingdom of God.
What we did last year was amazing, but this year will be known among the entire world.
