New Jaw bone of donkey!

Judges 15:16”Then Samson said, "With the jawbone of a donkey, Heaps upon heaps, With the jawbone of a donkey I have killed a thousand men."

Sometimes you think the battle is over, not aware that the enemy is conniving for the next attack! Caveat! Look at the attacks that Samson had to face, when he came to take his wife, he was told that she was given to someone else, humiliated and shocked by this betrayal, Samson took 300 foxes, tied them as couples with a stick between their tails and then lit the stick with fire and chased them into the fields of the Philistines. This brought huge loss to the Philistines because the foxes burnt up both the standing grain, along with the vineyards and groves. The Philistines in return did a barbaric act of burning both Samson’s father-in-law and his wife alive, again Samson fought them ruthlessly and went down and lived in the cleft of the rock of Etam.

Beware of your enemies: verse 9 “Then the Philistines went up and camped in Judah, and spread out in Lehi.” Observe here the way the Philistines positioned themselves to attack Samson, by now they knew his brutal strength, so they were not going to underestimate his power. They were determined to ‘finish’ him, so they a) camped in Judah b) spread out in Lehi, did you observe the word ‘spread’, yes, the devil would try to scare you by surrounding you with fear; however, do not be intimidated by the attacks. c) just like Judas who betrayed Jesus, here the Philistines were bargaining with the people of Judah. 3000 people of Judah tied Samson with two new ropes and handed him over to the Philistines. Remember there is a Judas in the camp, you don’t have to be suspicious, I say this so that you be alert!

Enemy comes like a flood: Look at the way the Philistines shouted as they saw Samson, they charged towards him ferociously but at that moment the Holy Spirit came mightily upon Samson and the new ropes just dropped down. This moment here demands loud applause and claps for our Lord! Do it! Have you ever felt more powerful than other times? I have. When I had to sleep with the Abide Angel Home kids in the hostel and do the warden job, wake up early cook break fast, get them ready go straight from there to Abide School, find that the cook has not turned up, then again take charge of the cooking of the school, administration and all other stuff until evening. No scene of any worker, so again go back with the Abide Angel Home children back to the hostel while my heart aches to go home and be with my family. I do all this because ‘someone’ has come inside of me, His name is the Holy Spirit, without which you cannot do such multi-tasking.

New Jaw bone of a donkey The Holy Spirit comes upon Samson, because the Lord knew this was too much for Samson, you know why? Tell me. Samson was tired with the battles already fought, he was emotionally drained by being betrayed by his own people. This was exactly what happened to our Lord Jesus Christ. God knows when you are tired, exhausted and depleted of energy. This is for someone out there!

Judges 15:15” Samson found a fresh jawbone of a donkey, so he reached out and took it and killed a thousand men with it.”

I cannot leave this scripture alone and finish it, I got to go deep and tell you of the mighty power of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. Samson took what? Fresh jawbone of a donkey! The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 1:27 - But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.” The jawbone of a donkey was no great weapon, but a warrior uses the tools that are with him efficiently and effectively. Most important, since the jaw bone was fresh, it must have been moist which made it more inconvenient to hold; however, the Holy Spirit inside him empowered him to swing it with power and kill 1000 armed Philistines. Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Glory to Jesus!

Friend, the Holy Spirit is given to you not just for Goosebumps and emotional feelings, you can get that kind of feelings even through movie songs and music. I have watched people cry like little children when they hear particular movie songs. This is flesh. I am talking about standing in the storm without falling because of the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen and Amen. You are filled with the Holy Spirit so that you are able to do things that normally is not possible. Are you listening? I remember asking a pastor on my birthday, to pray for power and strength to pray through the whole night. God did give me.
