Never, Never, Never ….give In…
Contributed by Bala Samson on Dec 11, 2012 (message contributor)
Summary: ‘Never give in’, is my message for you today! The world is ravenously hungry, thirsty for someone who could throw light in the darkness that surrounds them today.
Never, never, never ….give in…
John 21:3’Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We are going with you also." They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing.’
Today is the grand finale of our 40 days of fasting together! God bless you! ‘Never give in’, is my message for you today! I share with you guys that in my own life, I have ‘huge’ mountains facing me today, did it vanish after these 40 days of fasting? NO. But I can smile, thump my foot and say He is working for me and the clouds would surely pass! Amen. Smile!
My daughter who is able to click with people easily said, ‘in school or in college, people want someone with a positive and cheerful attitude who would be able to fill the air with joy’. True. The world is ravenously hungry, thirsty for someone who could throw light in the darkness that surrounds them today. Did not the Bible say, ‘ For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.’ (Isaiah 60:2) Amen.
After the death and resurrection of Jesus it was a period of darkness, fear, uncertainty for the disciples; even though they were first hand witnesses of amazing miracles done by the Hands of Jesus. After crucifixion, Jesus spent 40 days with them before resurrection, still we see Peter and the disciples struggle with faith! How we love to know what God is about to do in our lives, ministries, job, family and business? The flesh strives hard to know the plans of God ahead, so that we could relax; but wait a minutes, that is not faith. God expects us to trust Him when things don’t make any sense in our lives. Are you listening?
Look what happens, when Peter said, ‘I am going fishing’, they said to him, ‘We are going with you also.’ This is what I call as ‘herd mentality!’ When Peter’s faith was shaken, he made the other disciples stumble too and dragged them to do the wrong thing. These words kept working in my heart deeply and I kept thinking, ‘how important it is to have a GOOD LEADER?’ Are you with me? How important it is to be under a good Pastor, good teacher, good youth leader, good Sunday School teacher, good lecturer, who would be able to instill courage, faith and confidence in the hearts of people? When things turn sour, going back to the old lover or returning to the old joint of friends or going back to the wine shop is not the answer. Are you listening to me? Coming back to His feet is the right thing to do! God invites you all to His feet today!
Throw away that self-righteousness, throw away that smug attitude, throw away that pride, anger, sinful life, unrighteousness, bitterness, wrong relationship, bad habits, lust and come to Him.
I look at each one of you and say, ‘we don’t have to do and feel what the rest of the world is doing, our faith is based on what God can do, not what you can do or what the doctor can do.’ Nothing is impossible for Him! Amen. Believe. After a fresh encounter with Jesus, Peter gets charged and now the disciples join him and say: Acts 5: 29 “But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: "We ought to obey God rather than men.” This kind of guts is contagious! Join this crowd rather than the cowards!
Let me emphasize, He can create a new job for you, touch the organs of your body that is not functioning and make it alright (which He did for me ) find a partner for you, rebuild your broken life, bring freshness in your marriage, heal your children and your family. SMILE!
