Summary: Stories of people that mocked God and regardless of how famous or important the reaped what they sowed

I got an email this week that was a question asked on NBC. (We watched Thursday AM on ABC the authors of the “Left Behind” series talking with Robin Roberts regarding the RAPTURE)

First of all out of 100% I was always led to think that 14% was not a winning vote. The question asked on NBC was: Do You Believe in God?

NBC had a poll on this question. They had the highest number of responses that they have ever had for one of their polls, and the percentage was the same as this:

86% to keep the words, IN God We Trust and God in the Pledge of Allegiance with 14% against…….

If this is true that 86% of Americans believe in God. Then why there is such a mess about having "In God We Trust" on our money and having God in the Pledge of Allegiance” in our world today??

Why is the world catering to this 14%?

GALATIANS 6: verses 7-10

7 Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for you reap whatever you sow. 8If you sow to your own flesh, you will reap corruption from the flesh; but if you sow to the Spirit, you will reap eternal life from the Spirit. 9So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up. 10So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all, and especially for those of the family of faith.

The word “MOCK” means: imitate, mimic, ridicule. God is pretty serious about how we act. I like the first part of this scripture “for you reap whatever you sow”.

“SOW”: plant as seed.

“REAP”: harvest, get as reward.

If there was ever anything true in life it is this. YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW…. (Ronnie Holley coming by Sunday AM before we left Florida talking about how his kids do & how he worries) His girlfriend told him “know you know how you caused your mother to worry about you”. I told him YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW!!!!

Our world is full of those today that mock God. I got another email this week with several famous folks that we could consider as MOCKING God. I want to share them with you:

I. JOHN LENNON (One of the Beatles):

Some years before, during his interview with an American Magazine, he

said: "Christianity will end, it will disappear. I do not have to argue about

that. I am certain. Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too simple,

Today we are more famous than Him" (1966). Lennon, after saying that the

Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, was shot six times.

We have to be careful of what we say. To think that you are more famous than Jesus is pitiful. John Lennon was very innocent & died a very senseless death.

II. TANCREDO NEVES (President of Brazil):

During the Presidential campaign, he said if he got 500,000 votes from

His party, not even God would remove him from Presidency. He did get the

Votes to win, but he got sick a day before being made President, and then he died.

There are folks out there today that may tell you different but they are actually living their lives JUST LIKE THIS!!! Not even God can remove m…God can shut this whole world down now if He desires too.

III. CAZUZA (Bi-sexual Brazilian composer, singer and poet):

During a show in Rio de Janeiro, while smoking his cigarette,

he puffed out some smoke into the air and said: "God, that’s for you."

He died at the age of 32 of AIDS in a horrible manner.

GOD IS NOT MOCKED!! He is in control even as we speak.

IV. THE MAN WHO BUILT TITANIC (Thomas Andrews):

After the construction of Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the

Titanic would be. With an ironic tone he said: "Not even God can sink it" The

result: You all know what happened to the Titanic. Andrews as a matter of fact died on the titanic.

Why does even man today think he is invincible? He may not say it but again he tends to act like it. I always kid about alcohol; it makes a fella think he is 4’ wide & 8’ tall. We are not invincible.

V. MARILYN MONROE:

She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show. He

said the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her. After hearing what the

Preacher had to say, she said: "I don’t need your Jesus". A week later,

She was found dead in her apartment.

Billy graham was led by God to go & speak to this famous lady not about her career or her health or her finances or even about her lifestyle, BUT ABOUT HER SOUL.
