Youth Sermon: My Faith is a Mess

Don't Just Go Through the Motions

What we do and why we do it matters. Jesus talks about this in Matthew 6 when he's talking about prayer...

Jesus calls out the religious leaders of His time, the Pharisees, for being hypocrites. They were doing the right things but for the wrong reasons. Are we just going through the motions of faith, ticking off religious boxes without really meaning it? This can be exhausting and lead to a messy faith. We need to check our motives.

When we read the Bible, we should be looking for change, not just facts. The words we read should hit us in the heart, not just the head.

Paul tells us to let God's Word live in us richly. This happens when we let it change our lives. It's not about learning facts but about becoming better people.

If we only read the Bible to learn stuff or get ready for a sermon, we miss out on its power to change us. James warns us about just hearing the Word and not doing it.

We can slowly move from being close to God to just knowing about Him. Reading the Bible should lead to personal change and growth, not just knowing stuff.

What we do and why we do it matters.

Share Your Journey with Others

To get closer to Christ, we need the support of a caring community. This is something the early Church showed us.

After the Day of Pentecost, believers hung out together and helped each other. In times when we feel far from God, we need to get back to our community. Reach out to those who can encourage you in your faith.

Telling someone about your faith journey is important. Share your story of how God has changed you to encourage others.

In this story, Jesus heals a blind man, and the man shares his story. We all have a story to tell. Sharing our stories can inspire others and make our own faith stronger.

No matter where you are in your faith, God sees you and knows you. We all have times when we feel far from God, but we don't have to stay there.

Jesus invites us to find rest in Him. His yoke is easy, and His burden is light.

Reconnect with Jesus today, remember why you chose to follow Him, and experience the refreshing, healing, and hope He offers.

No matter where you are in your faith, God sees you and knows you.
