Summary: Small Thinking produces small living, We have a big God, Let’s think big and God will lead us into large living

Zech. 4:10 Despise not the day of small beginnings.

I want to establish the fact that everything starts with a seed, (small), but if the seed follows procedure it becomes a tree, {the mighty oak tree began as a tiny seed.} One of the dangers we face in the church is that of small thinking, Becoming comfortable with puny thinking, = puny believing = puny faith =puny lives

Yes Jesus said mustard seed faith could accomplish great things, but he also 5 times rebuked small faith in his disciples.

Jer 33:3

3Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Ps 2:8

8Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

2 Chr 1:7

7In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee.

John 14:13-14

13And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Mustard seed faith is the beginning not the end, ( What kind of faith does a mustard seed have? ﷓the kind that says: If you plant me I’ll grow

God’s plan for his children is to be ever increasing in faith and in the christian graces.

Increase and Growth is God’s plan, If we are not growing we are dying . ** I want to stress that many times the most important growth is internal, unseen, your greatest advances in the CHRISTIAN life will not be publicly achieved, but privately. But eventually internal growth becomes manifested, and outwardly apparent to all.

I’m a growth minded person, but I want productive growth, I don’t want growth for the sake of growth, I want growth for the sake of Christ.

God is looking for people who refuse to be boxed in, he=s looking for people who refuse to let religion rob them of relationship.

( When kids are little and you give them a coloring book, they color everywhere)- they color outside of the lines. } God is looking for people who in the spiritual sense will color outside the lines.

The greatest hindrance to the manifestation of the power of God In the earth is not the devil or the world,

it is small thinking Christians, who limit God with their small believing.

Psalms 78:41 Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.

Limit= to pain, wound, trouble, cause pain. From the idea from scraping to pieces

II Ki 6:1-3

1And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with thee is too strait for us.

2Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye.

3And one said, Be content, I pray thee, and go with thy servants. And he answered, I will go.

Too Strait:

narrow; (as a noun) a tight place (usually figuratively, i.e. trouble); an opponent (as crowding):

adversary, afflicted (﷓tion), anguish, close, distress, enemy, flint, foe, narrow, small, sorrow, strait, tribulation, trouble.

Following the natural pattern of Growth, and increase there will be times of straitness or distress, or tribulation,

When God wanted to give to Isreal the prophet Samuel, He had to bring a woman named Hannah into a condition of distress and vexation of spirit over her barrenness, ( God will do the same to you )

When a seed, begins to grow, it grows inside of a protective covering, eventually it becomes too tight and it outgrows it’s shell, That’s a process that should be repeated over and over in the christians life.

Caleb could have been satisfied Just to be included, just to have a part in the promise, But he was mountain minded, He refused to be satisfied, He said give me my mountain,

God takes a great deal of pleasure in people who refuse to (settle)or be pacified.

God is looking for mountain minded people.

Caleb said: Give me my mountain,

Caleb didn’t say: Well I guess I could settle for less, I could just take whatever you feel I should have.

Maybe I’m a little too old for thinking about mountains anyway.

I’m not physically fit enough to think about climbing a mountain anymore.

Besides all that, I don’t want to have to fight those giants, just give me a comfortable little spot in the valley.

No Caleb had a mountain on his mind, and it did not matter what he had to go through to get it, it was his inheritance and he was determined to have it.

How about you today?

Are you mountain minded?
