Summary: Today is Mothers Day our mothers do so many things they touch our lives many many ways. Mother touches us with presence, faith, strength, and many other ways.
John 19:25-27 Mothers Touch
1. Mothers Touch we never forget she would rub our heads, rub our shoulders, and rub our chest
• Mothers rubbed our heads telling us everything will be ok
• Mothers rubbed our shoulders telling us how strong we are
• Mothers rubbed our chests putting Vicks Vapor Rub on making us feel better man that stuff open our stopped up noses
2. Mothers touch is that of Presence
• Mothers are always Present the mother of proverbs was present for her family. The virtuous woman was present she offered her household wisdom, strength, and kindness.
• Daniels Mother was certainly present in Daniel Life although not named in Bible. Throughout his life, Daniel demonstrated a commitment to righteousness and integrity, even when it meant going against the norms of society. This suggests that he was raised in a home where ethical values were taught
• On Jesus’ worst day on Earth, His mother was present. She was near the cross of her Son. While most of Jesus’ followers had ran and hid; His mother was there. A mother is there for her children, no matter the situation.
• Our Text today said the following about the presence of Mary: “Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, "Dear woman, here is your son," and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.”
3. A Mothers Touch gives us The Presence of Faith
• The Lady with the issue of Blood was a woman of faith. The Presence of faith caused her to say,” “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.”
• Hannah was a woman filled with the presence of great Faith. In 1 Samuel 1:20, we read that "in due time",. 20So in due time Hannah conceived and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, saying, "Because I asked the LORD for him."
• Hannah had not only a son named Samuel but other children as well. As she had promised God, she gave Samuel back to him for a lifetime of service. Such a picture of trust and devotion!
• Ruth was a woman of Faith “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.
4. A Mothers touch gives us the presence of Gentleness but also strength
• The woman of Proverbs "Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come."
• The woman Peter writes about "Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear—4 but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious."
• Mothers Touch offers us Faith in God "Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised."
• Mothers Touch offers us strength for success "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."
• Mothers Rub our Heads, Rub our shoulders, Rub our chests, they give us their presents during good and bad, they give us presence of faith, and Mothers touch us with gentleness, but also strength. When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, “Woman,[a] here is your son,” 27 and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.”
