Summary: Some Scriptures and thoughts about Mother’s Day!

Proverbs 23:22-Listen to your father who begot you, And do not despise your mother when she is old.

Proverbs 23:24-25-The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice, And he who begets a wise child will delight in him.

Let your father and your mother be glad, And let her who bore you rejoice.

Make your parents proud!

Proverbs 22:6-Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.

Your responsibility is to raise them right, to lay the foundation but the choices they make when they get grown (When they don’t want to listen to you and want to do things their own way! No matter how much they try to blame you!), the responsibility has transferred to them! They are responsible for their actions

Proverbs 5:18-Let your fountain be blessed, And rejoice with the wife of your youth.

Proverbs 18:22-He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the Lord.

If you have a good wife and she’s a good mother, then you are truly blessed,

If she’s have decent wife and a half decent mother, then your still blessed, because there are a lot out in this world who are not!

Psalm 139:13-18-For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.

My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.

How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!

If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You.

Remember that God made you, there maybe things about yourself that you don’t like (Hair color, Height, Eye color….) but you need to remember that He created you just the way He waned you to be and because He created you in your mother’s womb, then that means He gave you the mother He wants you to have, (Even if you don’t believe that sometimes!).

Psalm 127:3-Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward

That is right! Children are a blessing, even if it seems like at times it’s a curse (Teenage years) instead of a blessing!

Proverbs 14:1-The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish pulls it down with her hands.

Moms, you are to build up your children, their confidence, their self-esteem and how quickly you can tear those things down, with the words you use!

Proverbs 31:10-31-Who find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies.

The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain.

She does him good and not evil All the days of her life.

She seeks wool and flax, And willingly works with her hands.

She is like the merchant ships, She brings her food from afar.

She also rises while it is yet night, And provides food for her household, And a portion for her maidservants.

She considers a field and buys it; From her profits she plants a vineyard.

She girds herself with strength, And strengthens her arms.

She perceives that her merchandise is good, And her lamp does not go out by night.

She stretches out her hands to the distaff, And her hand holds the spindle.

She extends her hand to the poor, Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.

She is not afraid of snow for her household, For all her household is clothed with scarlet.

She makes tapestry for herself; Her clothing is fine linen and purple.

Her husband is known in the gates, When he sits among the elders of the land.

She makes linen garments and sells them, And supplies sashes for the merchants.

Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come.

She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness.

She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness.

Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her:

“Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all.”

Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.

Give her of the fruit of her hands, And let her own works praise her in the gates.

Ladies, are you still waiting for your children to rise up and call you blessed!

I hope this day brings that kind of joy to your life!
