MISSION: ONE SINNER

Luke 15:4-10

4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep (he made an investment in 100 sheep, and let me say here that God made an investment in all humanity), if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? (The sheep wandered off, he feels the loss and that loss drives him to search for him, and the Shepard is relentless until he finds it).

Jesus didn’t die for all of humanity less one.

2 Peter 3:9

not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Matt 18:11

11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.

People are very valuable to Him.

Matt 10:29-31

29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.

30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

1 Cor 6:20

20 For ye are bought with a price:

5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.

7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

8 Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?

9 And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.

10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

She exhausted every energy to find it.

God is doing the same today.

He is chasing people down in the church houses, in the streets, every hell hole, in the jungles, the deserts, all four corners of the earth, because He does not want one person to go to hell.

God has, and is continuing to do, everything possible to keep people out of hell.

John 3:16

he gave his only begotten Son,

Isa 53:3

3 He (was) despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows,

Isa 53:5

5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him;

(He was beaten with stripes)

Isa 50:6

6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.

Ps 129:3

3 The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows.

John 19:1-2

19:1 Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.

2 And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head,

Mark 15:25

they crucified him.

Why did God allow that to happen?

This was God’s attempt to save the lost and to keep them out of hell.

Hell is going to be a terrible place.

Hell is mentioned 23 times in NT.

15 of those was mentioned by Jesus.

Every time He spoke of it, it was a place of suffering and torment.

Listen to the cry of God,

Ezek 18:32

32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.

Ezek 33:11

11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die,

God doesn’t want people to go to hell and neither do we.

How does this message get out? Through you and I. Jesus said

“Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in,”

Rom 2:4

the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

(God’s goodness is going to flow through us to the lost and dying).

1 Tim 2:4

4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

James 5:20

20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
