Mind Your Own Business!

Summary: In our daily life, we need to mind our own business by establishing a right relationship with God and sharing the gospel with the lost.
MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!
“Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life and attend to your own business and work with your hands” I Thessalonians 4:11 NASB
I. WE MIND OUR OWN BUSINESS WHEN WE ESTABLISH A RIGHT RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD!
In order to establish a right relationship with God, we begin by doing these three things.
1. To recognize that we cannot save ourselves:
“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
2. To repent of our sins and confess our sins to God: If we confess our sins. He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” I John 1:9
3. To publicly profess Jesus as our personal Savior: “That if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him form the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9
II. WE MIND OUR OWN BUSINESS WHEN WE LIVE A LIFE THAT HONORS AND PLEASES GOD!
Paul declared that living a holy, godly life is only reasonable when view in the light of the mercy we have been shown.
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1
III. WE MIND OUR OWN BUSINESS WHEN WE CARRY OUT OUT OUR CHRISTIAN RESPONSIBILITY!
Our Christian responsibility involves our dealing with fellow Christians and with unbelievers.
1. To our fellow-Christians:
(1.) To love on another: “A new commandment I give unto you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another,” Romans 12:1
(2.) To pray for one another: Confess your faults one to another and pray one for another, that you may be healed.” James 5:16
2. To unbelievers:
(1.) To witness by our life: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in Heaven.” Matthew 5:16
(2.) To witness with our words: “Then they said one to another, ‘We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace…” II Kings 7:9
IV. WE MIND OUR OWN BUSINESS WHEN WE PUT OURSELVES IN A POSITION TO BE BLESSED BY GOD!
“…for God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.” I Peter 5; 5b-6
“And what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” Micah 6:8
