Mercy, Truth And Fear Of The Lord

Do you have reverential fear of the LORD? Do you trust and depend on GOD's Mercy and God's Truth alone?

III. OBJECTIVES:

To show that it's all GOD's Divine effort to cleanse us by using His Mercy and Truth - the LORD JESUS CHRIST and the Fear of the LORD enables us to turn away from evil.

IV. TEXT:

Proverbs 16:6 (Amplified Bible)

16:6 By mercy and love, truth and fidelity [to God and man—not by sacrificial offerings], iniquity is purged out of the heart, and by the reverent, worshipful fear of the Lord men depart from and avoid evil.

V. THESIS:

Praise, worship and thank You very much LORD JESUS because of You, You are Mercy, Truth and Fear of the LORD in us that cleanses evil away from us and we depart from evil because You are the One doing it through us.

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. By Mercy and Truth, iniquity is purged

"By mercy and love, truth and fidelity [to God and man—not by sacrificial offerings], iniquity is purged out of the heart,"

Mercy or "chesed" in Hebrew means:

1. kindness

2. piety - is a compound of veneration or reverence of the Supreme Being and love of his character, or veneration accompanied with love; and piety in practice, is the exercise of these affections in obedience to his will and devotion to his service.

3. reproof or beauty

4. favor, good deed, kindness, merciful, mercy, pity, reproach

Truth or "emeth" in Hebrew means:

1. stability

2. certainty, truth, trustworthiness, faithful, right, sure, verity.

Our LORD JESUS CHRIST is Mercy and Truth Personified.

John 14:6 (Amplified Bible)

14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me.

2 John 1:3 (Amplified Bible)

1:3 Grace (spiritual blessing), mercy, and [soul] peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ (the Messiah), the Father’s Son, in all sincerity (truth) and love.

Jude 1:21 (Amplified Bible)

1:21 Guard and keep yourselves in the love of God; expect and patiently wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)—[which will bring you] unto life eternal.

Only JESUS has the real mercy, because He Himself is Mercy. This CHRISTmas don't be deceived by another jesus bringing a gospel of hope and mercy to the world, and we have even count down on his arrival. Only JESUS is the Real Mercy.

2 Corinthians 11:4 (Amplified Bible)

11:4 For [you seem readily to endure it] if a man comes and preaches another Jesus than the One we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the [Spirit] you [once] received or a different gospel from the one you [then] received and welcomed; you tolerate [all that] well enough!

CHRIST is the Mercy Seat in the Old Testament.

Exodus 25:17-22 (Amplified Bible)

25:17 And you shall make a mercy seat (a covering) of pure gold, two cubits and a half long and a cubit and a half wide.

25:18 And you shall make two cherubim (winged angelic figures) of [solid] hammered gold on the two ends of the mercy seat.

25:19 Make one cherub on each end, making the cherubim of one piece with the mercy seat, on the two ends of it.

25:20 And the cherubim shall spread out their wings above, covering the mercy seat with their wings, facing each other and looking down toward the mercy seat.

25:21 You shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the Testimony [the Ten Commandments] that I will give you.

25:22 There I will meet with you and, from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim that are upon the ark of the Testimony, I will speak intimately with you of all which I will give you in commandment to the Israelites.

All Divine effort and zero human effort on us. We are cleansed by the body and blood of the LORD JESUS CHRIST. Don't be deceived by some unmarried old man dressed in white trying to deceive you that he can hear your whispers and turn them to prayers to GOD. It's a deception. It's only by GOD's Mercy and Truth we are cleansed only by the name of JESUS and no other name, no other mercy, no other truth, there's only One Truth - the LORD JESUS CHRIST. He is not some old man dressed in robe of white fully guarded and riding in a cab with bullet-proof glass and paraded in front of the people that raised his hands to blessed them.
