Summary: Talking about the memorials that will remind us of what God has done for us.

Who knows what this Monday is? This Monday is a very special day for many people in this country; I can remember only really knowing it was a National Holiday because I got off of school. And you all know that is the real way that we keep our school schedule. I use to go through the year from days we got off from school one to the next, so one of the things I think of when I think Memorial Day there are a lot of things that come to mind. But it would be very different for many other men that are much older then I am this is a day that reminds them of all the friends that they have ever lost in the military. We have a day to recognize what people did for us all through out the year like Christmas, Easter, 4th of July, etc…. These are all days that help us to remember what these great people did for us.

-In the Bible we find the memorials have always been significant to the Lord lets turn to Joshua 4:1-3, 19-24

- The Lord told Joshua to do this so that the children would always be able to look at the rocks and know, that was the day the Lord did an amazing thing in our families lives. God always does this.

-When I say the word Memorial Day what does it many to you?

-Baseball

-Grilling, BBQ

-Sleeping in (No School)

-Military, etc…. (Washington Memorial, Lincoln, etc…)

-You think of these it will always bring back some memories of something that you did during this time.

-These are some things that come to mind for me during this day but they may be different from yours, but lets look at this day a little different think about this what if this was a day to remember you. Say that this was a day for everyone to recognize you, what would people think or write about you. Would they say that you were a good person, had lots of friends, helped everyone out, and was a person everyone wanted to be like.

-What reminders do you have of what God has done for you?

-People are a great reminder

-Places

-events, etc…

-Some people help us to remember why we do what we do. I know that every time that I see my step brother he always reminds me of my Christian walk because he was the one who spoke into my life and helped me receive Jesus Christ as my savior. I like the way it says it in 2 Tim. 4:6-8.

-Paul knew what awaited him because of how he lived his life.

-What waits for you?

-In Rev. 12:11 it says we overcame by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.

-Sometimes to really knew what we are going to do we have to act like Paul and talk about what God has done in our lives by speaking about it everyday.

-Spelling Test (write the word 3X, work hard)

-When we forget what God has done for us and we become very ungrateful, it’s when we don’t talk about it that, that happens.

-You might be thinking he has not done anything for me but he has he gave the cross for you.

-You can do anything you can overcome everything by trusting God in 1 John 4:4 it talks about overcoming and he who is in you is greater then he who is in the world.

-Let him help you have a great memorial to be written about you.
