Summary: We all have needs of some type in our daily lives.

1. We all have needs of some type in our daily lives.

2. Some of these needs, we are the source for the answer. Some needs others can meet.

a. Other needs of life only God can supply.

b. Some needs are met by fellow believers.

3. Blind Bartimaeus was asked an honest question. “What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee?”

a. The Lord Jesus had a purpose and reason for the question. Did Jesus not already know his need?

b. The reason was, did Bartimaeus know his real need. Why did God ask Adam, “Where art thou?”

4. So as pastor, I ask you,” What is your greatest need today?”

5. It's sad when we don't know our real need.

a. As individuals

b. As Christians; Revelation 3:14-17

6. God is able to meet any and all needs.

a. Hebrews 7:25

b. 2 Peter 1:3

c. Philippians 4:19

7. There are some needs that God and God alone can meet.

a. Some needs God allows us to be involved.

b. God only works for us to the degree we let him.

1) Matthew 21:22

2) Do we really want God to meet our needs?

3) He can and will if we allow him to.

4) Matthew 9:29; Mark 9:23-24

8. Two thoughts for our message today.

I. Needs that God and God alone can meet.

1. Forgiveness of sins gives us peace with God. Hebrews 1:3

a. For a right relationship. Romans 8:1; Matthew 9:2;1 Timothy 2:5

b. For a restored fellowship. 1 John 1:9

2. Peace of God.

a. Peace for the past. Luke 15:12-19; Philippians 4:7; proverbs 28:13

b. Peace for the present. James 3:3-6

c. Peace for the future. John 14:1

II. Needs where we are involved.

1. Money needs; Proverbs 3:9-10; 11:24-25; 19:17; 28:27; 1 Corinthians 9:6-10

2. Prayer needs; job 42:10; James 5:16

3. Needs of sacrifice and service. Mark 10:28-30; Luke 18:29-30

4. Needs of ministering and helping others. Matthew 6:12; 18:21-35; Luke 6:37

a. This principle is true throughout the word of God.

b. Whatever you need in order to get it you have to give it. To get encouragement you have to give encouragement. To get love you must give love. To get forgiveness you must give forgiveness.

5. The most miserable people here are people who go through life expecting others to minister to them.

a. People who are always pouting and getting their feelings hurt over little things.

b. People whose attitude is everybody owes me something.

6. Whatever you need, God says give it and he'll cause it to be given unto you.

7. Some people are not getting prayers answered because their life contradicts their prayers. Your actions and life must say “Amen” to your prayers.

8. Many are denying in practice what they are asking God to do in prayer.

a. Forgiveness

b. financial need

9. it works both ways.

a. Giving criticism

b. Giving harsh judgement

c. Giving gossip

10. This is a law of God.

a. If you live your life in obedience to this law, God will bless your life.

b. If you live your life outside this law, God cannot bless.

III. Closing

1. Titus 1:2: try God, trust God.

2. Malachi 3:10; prove God.
