Summary: The Paradox of the cross
Christ had to suffer in Jerusalem (v 21)
Peter rebuked Christ (v 22)
"Get behind me, satan!" (v 23)
"Take up (your) cross and follow me." (v 24)
The Paradox (v 25) "For whoever wishes to save his life shall lose it; but whoever loses his life for my sake shall find it."
The eternal perspective: money or heaven? (v 26)
The 2nd coming of Christ (v 27)
"The Son of Man coming in His kingdom" (v 28)
Since Christ suffered, we may have to as well
Be careful whom we rebuke!
Who is guiding us, satan or God?
Take up our cross and daily "Die to ourselves, our flesh."
Have an eternal perspective.
Are we prepared for Christ returning?
