G. Key verse: Mark 10:45

Mark 10:45 (Amplified Bible)

10:45 For even the Son of Man came not to have service rendered to Him, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for (instead of) many.

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Peter remembered and said

"And Peter remembered and said to Him,"

Peter is always the one who speaks for the twelve. Peter, the spokesman.

Matthew 14:28 (Amplified Bible)

14:28 And Peter answered Him, Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.

Matthew 15:15 (Amplified Bible)

15:15 But Peter said to Him, Explain this proverb (this maxim) to us.

Matthew 17:4 (Amplified Bible)

17:4 Then Peter began to speak and said to Jesus, Lord, it is good and delightful that we are here; if You approve, I will put up three booths here—one for You and one for Moses and one for Elijah.

Peter always answers for the twelve no matter what, just for Him to be heard. Yet He denied CHRIST three times.

Remembrance here means "to recollect", "to call to mind". GOD has given us a powerful mind, we can use it to remember what He said to us.

2 Timothy 1:6 (Amplified Bible)

1:6 That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands [with those of the elders at your ordination].

Hebrews 10:32 (Amplified Bible)

10:32 But be ever mindful of the days gone by in which, after you were first spiritually enlightened, you endured a great and painful struggle,

Do not forget GOD's Words:

Proverbs 4:5 (Amplified Bible)

4:5 Get skillful and godly Wisdom, get understanding (discernment, comprehension, and interpretation); do not forget and do not turn back from the words of my mouth.

If you forget GOD, you will just go to the grave separated from GOD. People here are already dead, they are already separated from GOD, from experiencing GOD.

Psalms 9:17 (Amplified Bible)

9:17 The wicked shall be turned back [headlong into premature death] into Sheol (the place of the departed spirits of the wicked), even all the nations that forget or are forgetful of God.

B. Master, Look!

"Master, look!"

Master in the Greek, means "my master", "Rabbi", as an official title of honor.

It's a relationship between a slave and a master. Slaves always look to their master's hand for mercy.

Psalms 123:2 (Amplified Bible)

123:2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, and as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, until He has mercy and loving-kindness for us.

Two recorded "Master, look" in the Gospels are that of Peter's and the man with a possessed child.

Luke 9:38 (Amplified Bible)

9:38 And behold, a man from the crowd shouted out, Master, I implore You to look at my son, for he is my only child;

Remember Elisha was called the title of honor by the people of the city.

2 Kings 2:19 (Amplified Bible)

2:19 And the men of the city said to Elisha, Behold, inhabiting of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees, but the water is bad and the locality causes miscarriage and barrenness [in all animals].

C. The fig tree you cursed has withered away

"The fig tree which You doomed has withered away!"

As if the Master does not know. It's not GOD's doing, but our own fault that's why we are cursed, it's the fault of one man - Adam.

Proverbs 3:33 (Amplified Bible)

3:33 The curse of the Lord is in and on the house of the wicked, but He declares blessed (joyful and favored with blessings) the home of the just and consistently righteous.

1 Corinthians 16:22 (Amplified Bible)

16:22 If anyone does not love the Lord [does not have a friendly affection for Him and is not kindly disposed toward Him], he shall be accursed! Our Lord will come! (Maranatha!)
