Events that will make Matthew unclean or a sinner:
1. Matthew will touch the money of the people.
2. Often thought of him stealing money, or adding charges to the people that will go straight to his pocket.
3. He will enter Roman courts to deliver the money.
4. He might be probably advised to eat with them if he has a good tax collection that day.
5. Touch unclean hands of the Romans.
VIII. MAIN BODY:
A. Kingdom Principle:
1. Many are invited to the LORD's salvation. (Matthew 22:10)
Matthew 22:10
So the servants brought in everyone they could find, good and bad alike, and the banquet hall was filled with guests.
- All of us are desired by GOD to be saved. (1 Timothy 2:4)
1 Timothy 2:4
who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.
- We are all called to salvation and to lived a holy life. (1 Timothy 1:9)
1 Timothy 1:9
For the law was not intended for people who do what is right. It is for people who are lawless and rebellious, who are ungodly and sinful, who consider nothing sacred and defile what is holy, who kill their father or mother or commit other murders.
2. The godly are set apart for the LORD. (Psalms 4:3)
Psalms 4:3
You can be sure of this: The Lord set apart the godly for himself. The Lord will answer when I call to him.
3. We, Christians, are all called to serve (1 Corinthians 1:26-27)
1 Corinthians 1:26-27
26 Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you.
27 Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful.
- Make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19)
Matthew 28:19
Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
4. We are chosen before the creation of the world (Ephesians 1:4)
Ephesians 1:4
Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.
- to be holy
- to be blameless in His sight
5. We are chosen by GOD (James 2:5)
James 2:5
Listen to me, dear brothers and sisters. Hasn’t God chosen the poor in this world to be rich in faith? Aren’t they the ones who will inherit the Kingdom he promised to those who love him?
