Manifestation Of The Truth

NUMBER FOUR: We need to obey the word of truth. 1 Peter 1:22 “Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently.” It’s easy to tell people how to live a good Christian life but most of us can’t even live a good Christian life ourselves. We’re not here to tell people how to live a good Christian life. We’re here to tell people about Christ. Christ is the one who will make them live a good Christian life. I thought about Nehemiah who stood for the truth. He saw that the church was in ruins. They had burnt down the city Jerusalem. There was hardly nothing left. It had been destroyed by evil people and Nehemiah got word of it and he went and prayed to the God of Heaven and this one man said I’m going to go and rebuild that city. If everyone of us would just pray and say God what can I do as an individual we’d get a lot more done. You wait around on every body else and you might wait a long time.

NUMBER FIVE: We need to love the word of truth. 2 Thessalonians 2:13 “God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth.” Let me tell you what loving the truth will do for you. You say preacher, I don’t have what everybody else in the world has. You may not. You may not be able to go where others go but if you have the truth and you love the truth then you’ll be satisfied. Accept what God has made you this morning. Most people want something bigger and better. Us Pastors would love to have a church with 5,000 members. I went to a church one time with 8,000 members and in 2000 they gave away 1.9 million dollars to missions. I’m not bragging on them. I’m bragging on Christians who will stand up for Jesus. Christ should be first in a Christians life. People are always thinking about themselves and never about the Savior. We seem to be going up hill and he seems to be going down hill. People dying and going to hell every day, every minute and you’re worried about not having enough money to buy more lottery tickets. Get your heart right with God.

NUMBER SIX: we need to walk in the word of truth. 3 John verse 4 “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in the truth.” Nothing makes me any sicker than seeing backslid Christian trying to be soul winner. They get out in the world and tell people how to find Christ and they haven’t even found him themselves. You better keep your heart right with God. The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous but his face is hid from those who do evil.

Now I want to share about seven things about the word of truth. The word truth pertains to everything God is and will be. Truth is like the common denominator for everything that Christ has. When you think of our world you think of the air we breathe. To have life we must have air. It’s essential and truth is the same. It’s a common denominator for everything to do with Jesus.

NUMBER ONE: Truth goes along with Grace John 1:17 “For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.” You can’t have grace without truth. The grace of God is the truth.
