Encourages embracing the peace of Christ and becoming active peacemakers, reflecting God's love and grace in our relationships, communities, and world.

Introduction

Good morning, dear brothers and sisters in Christ. It is a joyous occasion that we gather here today, united in our faith and love for our Savior.

As we come together in fellowship, I am reminded of the words of Paul Chappell, who once said, "Because of the empty tomb, we have peace. Because of His resurrection, we can have peace during even the most troubling of times because we know He is in control of all that happens in the world." Such profound wisdom in these words, reminding us we have peace because of Jesus’ sacrifices for us.

Today, we gather to reflect on the peace that our Lord Jesus Christ offers us. It is a peace unlike any other - a peace that is profound, powerful, and permeating. It is a peace that is not predicated on our circumstances, but on the unchanging love of our heavenly Father. This peace is not just a fleeting feeling, but a deep-seated assurance that we are loved, accepted, and secure in Christ.

Profound Peace Provided by Jesus

When we think about the peace that Jesus offers, we might first consider the depth of this peace. It's not superficial or temporary. It's not a peace that comes and goes with the changing tides of our circumstances. No, this peace is profound. It's deep. It's enduring. It's a peace that can weather the fiercest storms and the darkest nights. It's a peace that can anchor us in the midst of life's uncertainties.

This peace is a gift from Jesus: He doesn't just offer it to us, He provides it. He doesn't just point us to it, He leads us into it. He doesn't just tell us about it, He embodies it. Jesus Himself is our peace. He is the Prince of Peace. And this peace He provides is not just for a select few. It's not just for the religious elite. It's not just for those who have it all together. This peace is for everyone. It's for the broken, the hurting, the lost, the confused. It's for you and me.

The nature of this peace: It's not a peace that is dependent on our circumstances. It's not a peace that is contingent on our feelings. It's not a peace that is subject to the whims of our world. This peace is independent of our circumstances, our feelings, and our world. It's a peace that transcends our understanding. It's a peace that surpasses our comprehension. It's a peace that is beyond our grasp, yet within our reach.

The presence of Jesus: This peace is not just about the absence of conflict or the absence of trouble. It's about the presence of Jesus. It's about the presence of His love, His grace, His mercy, His power, His comfort, His healing, His hope. This peace is about the presence of all that Jesus is and all that He provides. It's about experiencing His presence in the midst of our pain, our problems, our pressures, our predicaments.

Our relationships with others: It's about our interactions with our world. It's about our influence on our culture. This peace is about bringing harmony where there is discord, unity where there is division, reconciliation where there is estrangement, understanding where there is confusion, love where there is hatred, forgiveness where there is resentment, hope where there is despair.

It's for eternity: It's a peace that lasts. It's a peace that endures. It's a peace that remains. This peace is not just for our time on earth, but for our time in heaven. It's not just for our mortal lives, but for our immortal lives. It's not just for our temporary existence, but for our eternal existence.
