Summary: Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”

1. EAT WITH ENJOYMENT

• “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks.

• Food and drinks are necessity and essential for us to live.

• Eating is one of life’s greatest pleasures.

Ecclesiastes 3:12-13

12I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. 13That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God.

• Eat your food but always remember that we are not living through physical food only but with spiritual food also which is the Word of God.

• Eat together.

2. BE HOSPITABLE.

• Send some to those who have nothing prepared.

Romans 12:13

13Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

3. TREAT EVERYDAY AS HOLY

• This day is holy to our Lord.

Romans 14:5-6a

5One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. 6Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord.

4. LIVE HAPPILY.

• Smile – laugh a lot.

• Do not grieve.

• Laughter enhances your intake of oxygen, stimulates your heart, lungs and muscles, and increases the endorphins that are released by your brain. Relieve your stress.

Proverbs 17:22

22A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

5. DELIGHT YOURSELF IN THE LORD.

• The joy of the Lord is your strength.

Psalm 37:4

4Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
