Pr 15:17-18 TLB17 It is better to eat soup with someone you love than steak with someone you hate.

18 A quick-tempered man starts fights; a cool-tempered man tries to stop them.

Pro 10:12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.

Gal 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

Gal 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

Gal 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

If we can determine to build our lives according to the pattern set forth in scripture we are promised strength hope and direction.

Pro 19:21 There are many devices [intentions plans]in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.

Pride, stubborn self will and sin must be placed on the altar.

We all want to be right and want to look like we are right but sometimes we must be willing to be wrong to be right.

Psa 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

Psa 139:24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

We must at times be willing to give in and submit to win, according to God’s standards. I must let go of control and allow the Holy Ghost to steer.

Jas 3:5-18 TLB 5 So also the tongue is a small thing, but what enormous damage it can do. A great forest can be set on fire by one tiny spark. 6 And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is full of wickedness, and poisons every part of the body. And the tongue is set on fire by hell itself and can turn our whole lives into a blazing flame of destruction and disaster.

7 Men have trained, or can train, every kind of animal or bird that lives and every kind of reptile and fish, 8 but no human being can tame the tongue. It is always ready to pour out its deadly poison. 9 Sometimes it praises our heavenly Father, and sometimes it breaks out into curses against men who are made like God. 10 And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Dear brothers, surely this is not right! 11 Does a spring of water bubble out first with fresh water and then with bitter water? 12 Can you pick olives from a fig tree, or figs from a grape vine? No, and you can't draw fresh water from a salty pool.

13 If you are wise, live a life of steady goodness so that only good deeds will pour forth. And if you don't brag about them, then you will be truly wise! 14 And by all means don't brag about being wise and good if you are bitter and jealous and selfish; that is the worst sort of lie. 15 For jealousy and selfishness are not God's kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, inspired by the devil. 16 For wherever there is jealousy or selfish ambition, there will be disorder and every other kind of evil.

17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure and full of quiet gentleness. Then it is peace-loving and courteous. It allows discussion and is willing to yield to others; it is full of mercy and good deeds. It is wholehearted and straightforward and sincere. 18 And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of goodness.

The last thing any of us need in our homes is negativity and running each other down and moodiness.

This will infest homes like termites and eat away the studs and pillars that hold up our families. We need to exterminate these bugs. Starve moodiness with wisdom. Understand that the enemy loves to use our own emotions against us. Bring them under subjection to the Holy Ghost.

It doesn’t matter how we feel we should be polite to one another especially those in our homes.

If you get hurt or ticked off. We react naturally and that is usually to counter attack. Like a mallet hitting your knee causing it to jerk.

Instead of reacting stop for a few moments and respond. Responding is a mature and wise way to handle situations that arise. You take a few moments to think and measure what you are going to say. Instead of responding with anger and chaos we respond with pleasing God in our minds.
