Summary: FIND

Jesus said in Luke 9:23,

“If anyone wants to come after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”

To deny yourself simply means to lose.

The Christian life begins with losing.

When God called me to serve Him in a new place, I felt like I was losing everything — my comfort, my friends, my family, my old life. But in losing my old way of life, I found a better one.

Jesus said in Matthew 10:39,

“Whoever loses their life for My sake will find it.”

Isaac Watts wrote,

“When I survey the wondrous cross… my richest gain I count as loss.”

Every loss creates space.

And that space can be filled with God’s presence.

Self-Denial is the KEY:

Self-denial is the key to conquering sin (Mark 8:34–35).

When we say no to ourselves, we say yes to God.

Self-denial is the key to confirming our salvation (Mark 8:34).

True discipleship requires surrender.

Self-denial is the key to confessing our Savior (Mark 8:38).

If we are not ashamed of Him, we must first die to ourselves.

Before you take up your cross…

Before you follow Him…

You must first deny yourself.

Lose your life — and you will truly find it.

Amen.
