LORD, Teach Me To Pray
Intensify In Measure
by
Dr. Gale A. Ragan-Reid (May 23, 2014)
“And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting” (Acts 2:2, King James Version, KJV [Christ's ascension to heaven]).
Greetings in the Holy Name of Jesus,
My brothers and sisters, “How much is it to you to speak out before God your petition in prayer---”it is yours for the asking”? Prayer that moves mountains is worth fasting three meals, just giving up three meals---consider what you are able to do in the flesh on the third day of your seven day cycle of prayer. Is this measure possible for you to achieve? Could you achieve fasting with drinks? Could you achieve it fasting one meal at a time for three days?
Are you willing to deny your flesh three meals and fold your hands to look like praying hands just like the field peas do to praise God in prayer when the sun mercilessly beats down on them? Do you ever let God see your praying hands held up to him when the heat of trouble, battle and war beats you down and when the heat of trouble, battle and war threatens to make you stumble and fall? You see the plants of the field reverence God in every respect and know He is the only God who takes care of them. Do you notice when the field plants bow down to God? When was the last time you were down on your knees bowed down to God?
We will not discuss how great the plant kingdom reverence God versus how great the animal kingdom reverence God. We are the human animal. According to the Prophet Isaiah (1:3, KJV), “The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.” The Proverbs (23:1, KJV) said, “When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee:”
Prophet Jeremiah (8:7; 9:3, KJV) stated, “Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the LORD... And they bend their tongues like their bow for lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD.” Most importantly Jeremiah (5:4-5, KJV) said, “Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD, nor the judgment of their God. I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the LORD, and the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.” When was the last time your prayers broke chains of bondage, opened doors of opportunity and released the power of God for healing? This kind of divine work is not for the faint of heart.
David prayed (Psalms 2:3), “Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.”
Let us pray:
Our Father in heaven, let your light shine in my life.
Let thy will be done for I am your child not a friend of the world
Let me not concern myself with the methods of the world
For Jesus is on the mainline, tell him what you want
For man was made in the image of God
For Jesus walked the earth, healing, praying, preaching and teaching
For on a donkey's back sat our Lord and Saviour.
For Jesus divinely worked the business of his Father, God Almighty.
Father, grant me the desires of my heart.
I am your child and you know what I need.
2
For the Lord my shepherd will not let me want for anything.
Let me not concern myself with strategy
For Jesus our great intercessor stands before God and judges all
Why do you need to ploy before God---shifting with schemata?
Why do you need to ploy before God---repositioning without God?
Are you God of yourselves?
Let God do all he wants to do to deal with your trouble, battle and war.
Let God calculate, cast into deception, cast a sleep over them, make them favor, make them hate, manipulate, shift and reposition, restructure, if it is His will then he will reveal his answer to your prayer.
Wait on the LORD.
Do not go to battle, on the battlefield or to war without God.
For my God will deliver me out of the hands of the oppressor.
For my God will break the back of my oppressor and all oppressors laying them to waste
