Summary: The words “the Lord came down” sent a shiver up my spine!
Lord came down!
Numbers 12:5 “Then the LORD came down in the pillar of cloud and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam. And they both went forward.”
The words “the Lord came down” sent a shiver up my spine! We live in a world where morality is vanishing, impurity is applauded, all norms thrown to the wind, when it is trendy to be unfaithful to marriage vows, gossip, snigger at each other, fight, steal, lie and cheat, thinking that the Lord would not come down from heaven to judge them. But I warn today, that He would come down!
“Tremors were felt across the country on Wednesday night 21/5 following a 6 magnitude earthquake 275 kilometres in the Bay of Bengal.” (Excerpt from The Hindu dated May 22, 2014) God speaks/calls for our attention through earthquakes! Not many have given even an iota of attention to this news and of such unforeseeable catastrophes that has been mentioned in the Bible. Living in a wicked and abominable society, such tremors are God’s warning of His wrath upon this world! Caveat!
“Nobody interfere in my life”, is the general motto of life! Young people listen, to rebel is sin. Here, in the above scripture, we see the own blood of Moses rebel against him. Verse 1 says, “Then Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses.” Please observe carefully, Moses did not complain to God, but God watched everything! Are you there? If you are falsely accused, mocked, mistreated, ignored; do not worry, God Himself would come down to speak on your behalf. Besides the pain of divorce, there are many out there hurt and bruised due to false charges, relax, God would judge the imposters at the right time in the right way. The more you silently endure insults and hurts, the more would God speedily reveal your innocence. Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still and know that He is God..” Not many would want to do that, though! The general tendency is to fight it out!
The concerned parties, Aaron and Miriam were summoned forth to come before Him and the Lord starts talking. My, these are startling words, more than reprimanding Aaron and Miriam, they were words of praises for Moses! Note, the way God talks possessively about Moses, “My servant Moses!” If you stay faithful, patient and obedient, God would surely “prepare a table for you in front of thine enemies.” Say Amen.
Let us learn the ways of God today. Remember, sinners and scoffers would not be sent scot-free, they would be summoned and punished!
