LOOKING BACK AND SEE WHAT GOD HAS DONE FOR YOU!

Sometimes we need to see what God has done for us in the past. How

He has helped us face the mountains of our lives. The victory He has given us time after time. There are times when we as Christians need to stop along life's road and look back. At times there may have been winding, rocky and steep, see how God directed us by His faithfulness. Here are 5 instants to look for that God has done for you.

I. The deliverance the Lord has done for us.

LOOKING BACK AND SEE WHAT GOD HAS DONE FOR YOU! Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

A. I love the old chorus 'He set me free'

B. Remember Romans 8:31 (KJV) What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

II. The way He has led us.

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

III. The blessings He has bestowed upon us.

Deuteronomy 28:2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.

A. The blessing of God to us are more that we can count.

IV. The victories He has won for us.

1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

A. We cannot lose for winning. We can not go under for going over, we are not thinking of the undertaker but the upper-taker.

1. Like the chorus 'Victory in Jesus'.

a. There are no victories at discount prices. General Dwight Eisenhower.

b. Jesus paid for all our victories,

V. The encouragements He has given us.

Joshua 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

A. Flatter me, and I may not believe you. Criticize me, and I may not like you. Ignore me, and I may not forgive you. Encourage me, and I will not forget you. William Arthur Ward.

B. We all need encouragements and of course God's are the best.

1. Abraham Lincoln carried with him a newspaper clipping stating he was a great leader.

When we face difficulties, we sometimes forget God's past faithfulness. We see only the detours and the dangerous path. But look back and you will also see the joy of victory, the presence of your traveling Companion who has promised never to leave you nor forsake you the Lord Jesus Christ.
