Living The Kingdom Life: An Instrument Of Your Joy Series
Contributed by Marty Boller on Nov 28, 2017 (message contributor)
Summary: #8 in a series focused on the foundational biblical truths found in The Peace Prayer of St. Francis: Make Me an Instrument of Your Peace.
I like to imagine what it must be like for Satan to deal with this current age when the Spirit is increasingly breaking in. Picture if you will, Satan going to Chucky Cheese and playing the arcade game called “whack-a mole.” This is a game where you hold a stick and evey time a mole sticks his head up ….you whack him. The game is rigged so the longer you play, the faster the moles keep popping up and you finally can’t keep up and whack them all. Try to imagine that every time a mole pops his head up he yells Jesus is Lord or I’m a Believer! It may seem far-fetched, but I like to call it a modern-day parable of the Kingdom.
Friends…….the long and short of it all is, that as long as we live in this age, we will experience sadness, just like anybody else. {Add personal notes about Cancer and marriage troubles for the kids. Sustained by a “Spirit-given peace, and a “Spirit-driven hope.” This brings on a “Spirit-fed joy” in spite of those things that bring about sadness.}
Yes…….we can truly rejoice even in our sadness in the knowledge that we live in an exciting time when God is showing Himself as never before. He is actively touching the lives of people to take away sadness, to heal illnesses, and to remind us always that He is coming back for us. Therein lies our JOY. Our salvation is secure. This is the joy we can share with others who don’t know the Lord and who are dealing with sadness.
Do the ministry of the Kingdom. Bind their wounds. Share their hurts, but don’t forget to remind them of the fast-approaching joy available through Jesus Christ. He is coming. He is coming soon. Look up……your redemption draws near! PRAYER
