When we give our lives to Christ, we surrender control and embrace His way. We become citizens of heaven and new creations, sacrificing everything for the sake of the gospel.

Youth Sermon: Living Sacrifice

Living as People Who've Been Saved

Today, we're going to talk about what it means to live as people who've been saved. We're not just supposed to say "thanks" and move on. We're supposed to live differently.

Imagine you've got a brand new phone. It's the latest model, super shiny, and it's all yours. But instead of using it, you keep it in the box and continue using your old, cracked, slow phone. Sounds crazy, right?

That's what it's like when we accept Jesus but don't live like it. We've got this amazing new life, but we're still clinging to our old ways.

We're not just supposed to say "thanks" and move on. We're supposed to live differently.

The Ultimate Sacrifice

In the Old Testament, people had to sacrifice animals to be forgiven. But Jesus changed all that. He was the ultimate sacrifice, so we don't have to do that anymore.

But we're still called to sacrifice. Romans 12:1 tells us to offer ourselves as living sacrifices. That means we live for God, not for ourselves.

[Read Romans 12:1-3]

Living for God looks like being humble, patient, and kind. It means sticking together, even when it's tough.

Becoming New Creations

Following Jesus isn't always easy. In fact, Jesus said we have to take up our cross and follow Him. But when we give up our old life, we find something way better.

When we live for Jesus, we become new creations. The old us is gone, and the new us is here.

Going All In With Jesus

So, what's holding you back from going all in with Jesus? Maybe you're scared of what your friends will think. Maybe you're not sure you can give up certain things.

But remember, Jesus gave up everything for us. The least we can do is live for Him.

So this week, think about one thing you can do to live more for Jesus. Maybe it's being kinder to your siblings. Maybe it's spending more time in prayer. Whatever it is, go for it.

Jesus gave up everything for us. The least we can do is live for Him. So let's do it. Let's be living sacrifices.

Prayer

Let's pray.

God, thanks for giving us new life. Help us to live for you, not for ourselves. Amen.
