Living Life Through Jesus

Summary: Today I would like for us to look at how this scripture can be applied to our lives. First without Jesus we are all dead in the spirit. We’re all lost to sin and dead to Christ Jesus for he is the life and only through him can we live.

Living Life Through Jesus
I am Pastor Chris,
Today I am speaking from John 11. In this scripture Jesus is speaking to Martha concerning Lazarus. Today I would like for us to look at this scripture in a different light.
Jesus Said in:
John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: John 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
Jesus is asking Martha. Do you understand? I am the life if you believe this then Lazarus shall live. Of course Martha is now somewhat confused she replies during this conversation Lord he has been dead now for days by now he smells of rotting flesh.
Jesus responds:
John 11:40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
Know today that all things done by Christ Jesus was to bring glory to God the father.
Today I would like for us to look at how this scripture can be applied to our lives. First without Jesus we are all dead in the spirit. We’re all lost to sin and dead to Christ Jesus for he is the life and only through him can we live.
Today we can apply this scripture to our lives by giving ourselves to God repent of our sins and receive life from Christ Jesus.
When we begin to live we can see the glory of God. God never intended for Christians to simply survive. Remember when he sent Moses to free the Israelites from Pharaoh he land them to a promised land where he not only provided for their needs but he provided also for their wants. They did not simply eat whatever they could to survive God provided food bountifully he supplied them with the fatted calf. He provided them with life’s pleasures.
Remember when Elijah waited upon God during the famine. Others were starving but the man of God was provided for.
Remember when Jesus told the disciple cast you nets. Not only did catch fish but their nest were full.
All through the Bible when Christians have believed God and been obedient to his commandments they have received great blessing from God.
1 Kings 17:13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.
1 Kings 17:15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.
1 Kings 17:16 And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.
1 Kings 17:18 And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?
1 Kings 17:22 And the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.
1 Kings 17:23 And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.
1 Kings 17:24 And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in thy mouth is truth.
Look at how God blessed the woman for her obedience when she fed the man of God as she was instructed God blessed her with food that would prevent her and her son form starving. Then look at what happened with the son because she believed God restored life to her son.
When you give God the glory he will give back far greater.
In Mark 6 Jesus performed a miracle by multiplying the food they all ate and there was more left over than they had to begin with.
Mark 6:38 He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.
Mark 6:39 And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass.
Mark 6:40 And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.
Mark 6:41 And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.
Mark 6:42 And they did all eat, and were filled.
