Summary: The written word of God or the word made alive to our spirits by the Holy Spirit?

Living in the intellect or in the re-born spirit/heart always guided by God’s Spirit?

Eph 4:17-18 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind (that is, ruled by their human intellect,)

18 Having their (spiritual) understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart (which is their spirit); NKJV

Rom 8:6 Now the mind of the flesh, which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit, is death, death that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter. But the mind of the Holy Spirit (in our spirits) is life and soul peace both now and forever. AMP

Rom 8:8-9 So then those who are living the life of the flesh (this is written AMP to Christians), catering to the appetites and impulses of their carnal nature (and particularly their human reasoning) cannot please or satisfy God, or be acceptable to Him.

9 But you are not living the life of the flesh, you are living the life of the Spirit, if the Holy Spirit of God really dwells within you, directs and controls you. But if anyone does not possess the Holy Spirit of Christ (written to Christians) he is none of His he does not belong to Christ, is not truly a child of God (he belongs to his flesh, he was born again as a true son but now lives apart from God as a prodigal).

Rom 8:14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. AMP

Rom 8:16 For His Holy Spirit speaks to us deep in our hearts… TLB

The written word of God or the word made alive to our spirits by the Holy Spirit?

2 Cor 3:5-6 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God,

6 Who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter (the written word) but of the Spirit; for the letter kills (being the strength of sin - 1 Cor. 15:56)), but the Spirit gives life (to the written word making it the Living Word to our spirits). NKJV

2 Cor 3:3 You show and make obvious that you are a letter from Christ AMP delivered by us, not written with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
