INTRODUCTION:
Favour is a supernatural advantage that causes a person to experience blessings beyond human effort. It is God’s divine endorsement that opens doors and brings breakthroughs. Solomon’s story in 1 Kings 3:4-13 reveals how divine favour can elevate a person beyond expectations.
1. DIVINE FAVOUR BRINGS SUPERNATURAL PROMOTION
a) Favour lifts a person beyond human qualification (Psalm 75:6-7)
Solomon was chosen as king despite being young and inexperienced.
b) God’s favour promotes the humble (James 4:6, 1 Peter 5:6)
Solomon acknowledged his limitations before God, and he was lifted.
c) Promotion comes through divine favour, not just hard work (Ecclesiastes 9:11)
Many work hard, but favour gives the supernatural edge.
d) God’s favour makes a person stand out (Daniel 1:9, 20)
Daniel and his friends excelled because God favoured them.

4. FAVOUR MULTIPLIES BEYOND GENERATIONS

5. HOW TO ATTRACT AND MAINTAIN GOD’S FAVOUR

Obedience is a magnet for divine favour.
c) Develop a strong prayer life (Luke 18:1, James 5:16)

d) Be a blessing to others (Proverbs 11:25, Luke 6:38)
Giving and helping others increase divine favour.
e) Biblical Example: The Widow of Zarephath (1 Kings 17:8-16)
Her act of generosity opened doors of supernatural supply.
CONCLUSION:
Living in favour is not about luck but divine positioning. When a person seeks God, walks in righteousness, and honours Him, favour becomes a lifestyle. Solomon experienced God’s favour because he sought wisdom instead of riches, and God gave him both. If we pursue God wholeheartedly, His favour will distinguish us in all areas of life.
