Explore the benefits of living in divine favour and how young people can continually experience God's favour throughout their lives, even in difficult circumstances.
Good morning, family! Today, we are going to dive into an exciting topic that I believe will be a great blessing to each one of us. We’ll be exploring the benefits that come with living in divine favour and how our young people can walk in the incredible favour of God.
I want to begin with a quote from Billy Graham who said, "God's hand never slips. He never makes a mistake. His every move is for our own good and for our ultimate good." That's right, folks! God's favour is not something that comes and goes, but it is a gift that He continually bestows upon us throughout our lives.
Our key Scripture today is found in Daniel 1:9, which says, "Now God had caused the official to show favor and compassion to Daniel," Even in the midst of difficult circumstances, Daniel experienced the favour of God, which opened doors for him and brought him into positions of influence.
Let's open our hearts and minds to receive what the Lord has for us today as we explore this topic of living in divine favour. Please join me in a word of prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your goodness and abundant favour in our lives. We ask that as we study Your Word today, You would open our hearts and minds to receive the wisdom and knowledge that You have for us. Help us to understand the benefits of living in divine favour and guide our young people in walking in Your favour. We give You all the glory, honour, and praise, in Jesus' name. Amen.
Now, let's dive in!
Living in divine favour allows us to experience God's goodness and blessings in our lives. The favour of God is His supernatural intervention, which opens doors of opportunity, brings about breakthroughs, and positions us for success and influence. It is a gift that God bestows upon His children, and it is not something that we can earn or deserve. It is important to understand that living in divine favour is not just about receiving material blessings or achieving worldly success. It is about experiencing God's presence, love, and grace in every area of our lives.
One of the key aspects of living in divine favour is understanding that it is a gift from God. We cannot earn it through our good works or religious activities. It is not something that we can manipulate or control. Instead, it is a gift that God freely gives to His children because of His great love for us.
Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." This means that we must learn to receive God's favour by faith, trusting in His goodness and love for us.
The Bible tells us that God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34), which means that He does not show favouritism or partiality. Instead, He desires to bless and favour all of His children. This is a powerful truth that can transform our lives, as it enables us to see ourselves as God sees us – favoured, loved, and blessed. When we embrace this truth, it will empower us to walk in the fullness of God's favour and experience His blessings in every area of our lives.
Living in divine favour also involves walking in obedience to God's Word and His commands. While it is true that we cannot earn God's favour, it is also true that our obedience and faithfulness to Him can position us to receive His blessings and favour. In Deuteronomy 28:1-2, the Bible tells us, "Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you because you obey the voice of the Lord your God." This passage reveals that obedience to God's Word is a key to unlocking the blessings and favour of God in our lives.
Furthermore, we must learn to trust in God's timing and His sovereignty. Sometimes, we may not understand why certain things happen in our lives or why we face certain challenges. However, we must remember that God is in control and that He has a plan and purpose for our lives. His favour is not limited to the good times but is also present in the difficult seasons of our lives. As we trust in His timing and His plan, we will experience His favour and blessings, even in the midst of trials and challenges.
Another aspect is learning to be grateful and content with what God has given us. It is easy to focus on what we do not have or what we think we need, but the Bible tells us that godliness with contentment is great gain (1 Timothy 6:6). When we learn to be grateful for God's blessings and favour in our lives, it positions us to receive even more of His goodness and grace. A heart of gratitude also helps us to maintain a proper perspective on our lives and to recognize that everything we have is a gift from God.
As we experience God's favour and blessings in our lives, we are called to share those blessings with others. This can take many forms, such as sharing our resources, time, and talents with those in need, or simply being a source of encouragement and support to those around us. As we bless others, we will find that God's favour in our lives increases, and we will experience even greater levels of His goodness and grace.
As we draw closer to Him through prayer, worship, and the study of His Word, we will experience His presence and favour in our lives in greater measure. This growth and intimacy with God will also enable us to walk in the fullness of His purpose and destiny for our lives, as we are empowered by His Spirit and guided by His wisdom.
Pastor, here would be a good place to share a personal story about experiencing God’s divine favour.
