This sermon aims to explore the lessons from the Bible on how to live out God's call in our daily lives, by overcoming challenges with faith and embracing our spiritual gifts.
“Heavenly Father, we come before You today, humbled and grateful for the opportunity to gather in Your presence. We seek an outpouring of Your Holy Spirit upon this place, as we strive to understand Your Word and apply it to our lives. We ask for an invasion of Your wisdom and revelation, as we face the giants in our lives and live out Your call on our lives. Break down any strongholds that may hold us back from stepping into our spiritual gifts and embracing the revival You desire for us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.”
Greetings, beloved brothers and sisters in Christ! Are you ready to get into the word of God today as we wrap up our series Called & Anointed! We’ve already learned quite a bit together about the calling and anointing of God through the lives of the prophet Samuel and the shepherd boy turned king, David son of Jesse. Today we pull it all together in 1 Samuel 17. It’s here we learn to 1.) Recognize Where the Real Battle Lies, 2.) Realize God's Desire to Use Us, and 3.) Remember the Battle Belongs to the Lord.
In the midst of life's challenges and greater spiritual warfare, we must always keep our eyes on God as we walk in our calling. Remember, the key to victorious living is not found in our strength, but in our submission to the Holy Spirit. It is through submission to the work of the Holy Spirit that we can fully access our gifts and gain victory in our lives.
We see this truth play out in one of the most well known and beloved “victories” of all time; The story of David and Goliath.
Remember, the key to victorious living is not found in our strength, but in our submission to the Holy Spirit.
