Summary: Proverbs 30:26 The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks. In this issue we are going to study a little from the conies.
Proverbs 30:24 There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise:
25. The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer;
26. The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks;
27. The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands;
28. The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings' palaces.
If the Word of God calls these four creatures wise then we really got to learn something from them. In the last issue we studied some lessons from the ants and in this issue we are going to study a little from the conies.
The rabbits act curiously enough in the construction of their burrows; but the word probably does not here mean the animal we call coney or rabbit. A creature very much like a rabbit, but never burrowing in the ground, but dwelling in clefts and holes of rocks.
While the ants are known for planning and preparation the conies are known for their:
1) STRONG DETERMINATION
Conies are very much known for their strong determination and patience.
When a predator is after them the conies hide between the rocks patiently for several hours till the predator is tired and leaves. The conies can't run fast because their hinder legs are weaker. Inspite of their physical limitation, it is their strong determination and patience that is their strength and they hide behind the rocks for several hours.
Beloved, you must pursue with all your heart the plans of God for your life. You must pursue the Presence of God. The Bible says in Daniel 1:8 that Daniel made a strong determination to lead a holy life.
Look at the determination of Joseph Genesis 39:7-9, " 7. And it came to pass after these things that his master’s wife cast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said, “Lie with me.”
8. But he refused and said to his master’s wife, “Look, my master does not know what is with me in the house, and he has committed all that he has to my hand.
9. There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”
No wonder God rewarded Joseph openly.
Don't be confused about things in life but become a person who will clearly know the will of God for your life and will be DETERMINED to do it.
Paul is another person who pursued the purpose of God for his life and had a strong determination. Paul says, "According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death." (Phil. 1:20) He had determined to magnify God in his body.
2) PATIENCE: Conies are very much known for their patience too.
Today, you may have some spiritual or physical weakness or limitation. You need to patiently hide behind "Jesus Christ - the Rock of Ages" and cry out to Him for His Mercy. God is able to turn your weakness into strength, your mourning into dancing, your fears into faith and your failures into victory. Hold on to Him.
Although Moses was a mortal man but because of His strong determination to see the Glory of God and his patience, God placed him in the cleft of the rock and from there showed him His Glory (His Nature). A very few people in the Bible have reached this height to receive such a revelation of God.
Don't be discouraged about your weakness but patiently go after Godwith all your heart and ask Him to hide you in His wounded side. He is your refuge. When God hides you then your experience will become that of David who said in Psalm 27:5, "For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock."
The enemy will search for you but he will not find you because the Lord has hidden you. O! What an experience.
Depend totally on the Lord, Trust Him, cry out to Him, hold on to Him, He will turn your weakness around and will make you reach your destiny.
God Bless you!
