Like Noah

Like Noah we live in the midst of wickedness and evil

Pr 30:11-13 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.

There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.

Read 2 Ti 3:1-5

Php 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

(We are to Be preachers of righteousness)

2Pe 2:5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth [person], a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

(We must warn the wicked to flee the wrath to come)

Ro 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

(We must be committed to the cause)

1Sa 17:29 And David said, What have I now done? [Is there] not a cause?

(We must work out our own salvation)

Php 2:12 work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

God chose the materials = (gopher wood) For you and I it’s the word of God.

God gave the instructions but Noah had to apply them

Pitch it within and without

To pitch meant to seal

#1 There are some things we need to seal in: (character, integrity, dignity, holiness, compassion, forgiveness, (it’s an inside job)

#2 There are some things that we need to seal out: (Fear, doubt, anger, un forgiveness, bitterness, things that stir up the carnal man, works of the flesh).

(We’re in the world but not of the world, You can swim in the ocean without drinking the water.)

Ge 7:18 And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth;

There is no doubt about it, the waters of sin, and ungodliness, and perversion are increasing greatly upon the earth, but listen to the last part of that verse

and the ark went upon the face of the waters.

That means the ark rode over the top of the waters of destruction.

It is still true today that those who live righteously, and holy, and separated lives unto God, are going to rise to the top, The darker it gets the brighter our light shines, the higher the waters of sin rise, the higher we will rise.

Greater is he that is in us, than he that is in the world.

Like Noah:

We must be willing to be thought foolish for Christs and the Gospels sake.

How foolish it must have seemed for this man to be building an ark when it had never even rained upon the earth.

1Co 4:10 We [are] fools for Christ’s sake,

1Co 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

We must look a lot like Noah prophesying to the world of a coming judgement, that Jesus is coming back, that only those who have been washed in the blood of the lamb, and who have turned their back on sin can enter into heaven.

Like Noah:

Our message must be pure

Our message must be powerful

Our message must be plain

1Co 14:8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle? Uncertain = unclear, unrecognizable, unsure, not plain, undecided, unsettled.

Our message must be consistent

Like Noah:

We must be (Self Disciplined) (Self Motivated) (Self encouraged)

Like Noah:

We are building for future generations

Like Noah:

We must be willing to work without Immediate reward

Like Noah:

We must Finish the race

What a tragedy it would have been for noah to build on this ark for 85- 90 years then quit, and say It aint worth it, or I don’t believe it’s coming.

It didn’t matter how great his start was, It was finishing that really mattered.

Ec 9:11 I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong,

Mt 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
