Light of The World(NIV)
Genesis 1:1-4
GE 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
GE 1:3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.
Today we are going to talk about light. The Bible tells us that God created light, but where did this light come from?
Light is a form of traveling energy. UV light to help plants grow and heat for human beings and the Earth.
The speed of light is 3 million meters per second. If you close your eyes and open them, the light you see at that instant took about 6 minutes to get here from the sun.
In Genesis 1, verse 2 tells us that “the Spirit of God” was present at the creation of the world. The Holy Spirit was there at the beginning.
Something else was there at the beginning also.
John 1:1-5
JN 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning.
JN 1:3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.
Jesus was there at creation also. Jesus was the source of light at the beginning.
