Introduction

Good morning, dear friends, brothers and sisters in Christ! It's such a joy to be here with you today, in this sacred space where we gather to worship, to learn, and to grow in our faith. Let's take a moment to breathe in the grace that fills this room, the grace that comes from our shared love and belief in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Today, we're going to turn our eyes and hearts toward the Gospel of John, specifically John 1:1-5. In these verses, we find a profound truth that is as deep as the ocean and as high as the heavens. We find Jesus, the Word, the Light, and the Way to Salvation. These are not just titles or labels, but they are the very essence of who Jesus is and what He means to us.

Jesus as the Word

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

The great preacher Charles Spurgeon once said, "The Word of God is always most precious to the man who most lives upon it." We are here today to live upon the Word, to allow it to nourish our souls and guide our steps. We are here to understand more deeply the mystery and the beauty of Jesus as the Word, the Light, and the Way.
