Life Is Brief

"You have decided the length of our lives. You know how many months we will live, and we are not given a minute longer...So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom"

THE BREVITY OF LIFE

"Seventy years are given to us! Some even live to eighty. But even the best years are filled with pain and trouble;

soon they disappear, and we fly away" (Ps 90:12).

Life on earth is brief. We are not conscious of the time of our birth, we come into the world clueless, live our allotted time and die. Some blessed ones find their purpose, discover their gifts/talents and live a fulfilled life. Others wonder and wander through life and are buried with their talents. The graveyard is a dungeon of undiscovered talents. God will grant you grace to discover your talents, fulfil your purpose and impact humanity and the world positively in Jesus name.

GOD HAS A PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE

Life is brief and full of troubles, pleasures and struggles. From conception to death, the competition to survive is monumental. Millions of sperms fight for the opportunity to fertilise an egg and after that the chosen one strives to pass through the 'narrow gate' of their mother's womb to emerge on earth. Some don't make and others die trying. You made it and that is why you are here. It is all for a grand purpose by the one who created you - God. He has a plan and purpose for your life. It is a good plan (Jer 29:11). For God's plan and purpose to come to pass in your life, you must play your part. God told Prophet Jeremiah: "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations" (Jer 1:5). Jeremiah walked and worked with God and achieved his purpose. God's plan and purpose for your life will not be truncated. Your gifts and talents will not be swallowed by the grave in Jesus name.

YOU HAVE AN ENEMY

Life is brief. Death is inevitable. In the brevity of life, an enemy trolls man. Satan, the devil - the thief that steals, kills and destroys destinies (John 10:10). But, he can only succeed if you let him. God conceived a plan from the beginning of creation to thwart all the plans of Satan. He gave us his only begotten son Jesus to correct the error of Adam and reconcile man to himself (John 1:12, 3:16). You only need to believe in Jesus and accept him as Lord and Saviour to obtain the salvation offered by God. On your part, God requires that you love/serve him with all your heart, mind and soul and to love your neighbour as yourself. (Deut 10:12, Matt 12: 30-31). Satan will not steal your salvation in Jesus name.

ETERNAL LIFE WITH GOD IS A CHOICE

Life is brief, but eternal life is available in Christ. In our brief life, our lifestyle on earth determines where we spend eternity. Every one ever born will live forever. There is a resurrection of the dead and a rapture of the living at a time in the future. Our brief life is for a purpose. It is to prepare us for eternal life with Jesus in paradise. Those who don't pass the test of life will suffer with Satan in hellfire. The choice is yours. Listen to God's plea and choose right. "Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!" (Deut 30:19 NLT). I choose life and blessing. What about you?
