Galatians 5 v 13 - 26 Life in the Spirit

Our Calling

A Holy Calling - 13 For, brethren,

A High Calling - ye have been called unto liberty;

A Heavenly Calling - only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh,

A Harmony Calling - but by love serve one another.

Our Commitment

A Commitment to the Law - 14 For all the law is fulfilled

A Commitment to the Light - in one word, even in this;

A Commitment to the Lord - Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Our Conduct - is one of -

Peace - 15 But if ye bite and devour one another,

Purpose - take heed

Purity - that ye be not consumed one of another.

Our Control -

Our Word - 16 This I say then,

Our Walk - Walk in the Spirit, (Live your whole life in the Spirit) J B Philips

Our Win - and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Our War - 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit,

Our Warfare - and the Spirit against the flesh:

Our Watch - and these are contrary the one to the other:

Our Will - so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

1 Corinthians 9:26

The Race - I therefore so run,

The Resolve - not as uncertainly;

The Resistance - so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:

The Rule - 27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection:

The Risk - lest that by any means, when I have preached to others,

The Regret - I myself should be a castaway.

Our Way - 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit,

Our Witness - ye are not under the law.

Our Contention

The Manifestation of the Flesh

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these;

The Manipulation in the Flesh

19 Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, (lust)

The Mobilization with the Flesh

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

The Mortification at the Flesh

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like:

The Miscalculation by the Flesh

21 of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past,

that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Our Convention

The Contrast - 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is

The Contentment - love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance:

The Conformity - against such there is no law.

Our Condition

Our Lord - 24 And they that are Christ's

Our Loss - have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Our Light - 25 If we live in the Spirit,

Our Liberty - let us also walk in the Spirit.

Our Limit - 26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory,

Our Love - (not) provoking one another, (and not) envying one another.
