THE 5 SACRIFICES
The voluntary whole burnt offering (Lev 1:1-17; 6: 8-13) - bull, sheep, goat, pigeon, or turtledove
The voluntary meal offering (Lev. 2: 1-16; 6: 14-23) was fine flour, cooked into bread or wafers. THIS CAN BE A HINT OF THE LORD'S SUPPER.
The voluntary peace offering (Lev 3: 1-17, 7:11-38, Matt. 26:26), another hint of Christ
The required sin offering (Lev. 4: 1-5, 13, 14, 6: 24-30) again, a hint of Christ
The required trespass offering (Lev: 5: 14-6:7; 7:1-10) against the Lord and man; a ram, a hint of Christ
THERE WERE 7 FEAST DAYS (3X / YEAR)
1. Passover - lamb's blood on the doors so the death angel would Passover their homes. Christ is our Passover Lamb (1 Cor 5:7)
2. Unleavened bread - for 7 days, no leaven (corruption) was permitted in their homes. 1 Cor 5:1-8 Paul told them to get it out.
3. 1st fruits - the 1st sheaves of grain to the priest who would wave it before the Lord and offer burnt offerings with meal and drink offerings. The whole harvest is the Lord's
4. Pentecost (a major Jewish harvest party—also called Shavu’ot, or the Feast of Weeks—that happened 50 days after Passover; https://bibleproject.com/articles/what-is-pentecost-and-why-is-it-important/) - raised bread that was waved before the Lord.
5. Trumpets (the voice of God); they will be blown at Christ's return
6. Day of Atonement - 9 days after the Hebrew New Year (Rosh Hashana for Hebrew Year 5787 begins at sundown on Friday, 11 September 2026 and ends at nightfall on Sunday, 13 September 2026 per hebcal.com). This was a day of fasting. See Lev. 16
7. Tabernacles 2 weeks after the Day of Atonement the Israelites began a week-long celebration known as the Feast of Tabernacles. They dwelt in the fields in booths (tents).
See Hebrews 4: 14-16 and 9:11 regarding Christ being our high priest.
