Summary: God is our father. He desires that we communicate wit him. Let's pour the problems bothering our hearts to him like David did. He will answer us, for we are his children.

TEXT: Philemon 1:21(NLT)

"I am confident as I write this letter that you will do what I ask and even more!"

Oct 6,

My dear father,

"I am worn out from sobbing. All night I flood my bed with weeping, drenching it with my tears. My vision is blurred by grief; my eyes are worn out because of all my enemies (Ps 6:6:7 NLT). Troubles and challenges encamp round about me. They mock and laugh at me. "My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?" (Psalms 42:3). They prosper and delight in evil. They wink at me and tease me.

Father, ... "why do you stand so far away? Why do you hide when I am in trouble? (Ps 10:1 NLT). Why is my night so long?

Father, "turn and answer me...restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die. Don’t let my enemies gloat, saying, “We have defeated him!” Don’t let them rejoice at my downfall (Ps 13:3-4 NLT).

I have no one to help me Father but you. Arise and wipe away my tears. You told me that "weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning". Let my joy arise with the morning light. My father, please have mercy on me, pity me as a father pities a son. Forgive my shortcomings.

"I have followed your commands, which keep me from following cruel and evil people. My steps have stayed on your path; I have not wavered from following you. Show me your unfailing love in wonderful ways. By your mighty power you rescue those who seek refuge from their enemies. Guard me as you would guard your own eyes. Hide me in the shadow of your wings.Protect me from wicked people who attack me, from murderous enemies who surround me. Arise, O 'my Father!' Stand against them, and bring them to their knees! Rescue me from the wicked with your sword!" (Psalms 17:4-5, 7-9,13 NLT).

"....Father, thank you for hearing me." (John 11:41).

PRAYER: Father, I have poured my heart unto you. Attend to my cries and wipe away my tears. Let everyone know you are indeed my father, overthrow those that challenge your role in my life. By your mercy, answer me in Jesus name.
