Contributed by James Dina on Oct 29, 2022 (message contributor)
Summary: As of March 2022, 42 percent of pastors had considered leaving full-time ministry within the previous year (BARNA Group Survey). Also, only 30% of the leaders in the Bible finished well. This means that 70% fell short of God’s plan for their lives. Our lights must definitely shine at the peak.

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE AT THE PEAK
"Son of man, how is the wood of the vine better than any other wood, the vine branch which is among the trees of the forest? (Ezekiel 15:2)
Jesus disarmed principalities and powers. He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:15), when his light shone at the peak. He is God's son, who left his heavenly glory to become a bondservant and come in the likeness of men. (Philippians 2:7); and died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).
When he was resurrected from the dead, he gave us the commission to, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. " Amen.
(Matthew 28:19-20).
We can only accomplish this task WHEN OUR LIGHT SHINES, especially at the peak, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16).
The sun shines at its peak and displays its full glamour at noon(12pm). Its energy at this time is so strong, it can’t be viewed directly with our eyes except with the help of a sunglass. We can still manage to view the sun when it rises from the east in the early hours of the day, but we may not be able to do so at noon. This is a mystery. Only the wise can understand this mystery.
Only a few people operate at the peak, at the height, which makes them relevant in society. Other people look up to them for ideas, strategy, and decision-making because of the level of their expertise.
According to FORTUNE, the world’s richest people now own 11 % of global wealth. The world’s ten richest men more than doubled their fortunes from $700 billion to $1.5 trillion during the first two years of the COVID-19 pandemic, where over 160 million people were forced into poverty. "If these men were to lose 99.999 percent of their wealth tomorrow, they would still be richer than 99 percent of all the people on this planet," said Oxfam International’s Executive Director Gabriela Bucher. " They now have six times more wealth than the poorest 3.1 billion people. OXFAM (Ten richest men's fortunes double in pandemic)
According to ACTS 29.com, Dr. J. Robert Clinton, professor of leadership at Fuller Theological Seminary, spent over 15 years conducting extensive research on the lifelong development of Christian leaders. In an exhaustive search of the Bible, he identified approximately 1,000 leaders. Most were mentioned only by name. These included everything from Old Testament patriarchs, priests, and military leaders to New Testament apostles, prophets, evangelists, teachers, and pastors. Sufficient information was available on only 49 prominent leaders to analyze how they finished. The results are shocking.
Only 30% of the leaders in the Bible finished well. This means that 70% fell short of God’s plan for their lives. This fact should jolt any present-day leader who desires to count for God. It is the rare leader who runs faithfully to the end, developed by God toward maximum potential in life and ministry. Only a handful earn the right to echo Paul’s words, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. (2 Timothy 4:7) Our lights must definitely shine at the peak.
In a Barna Group survey, the percentage of pastors who have considered quitting full-time ministry within the past year stands at 42 percent, as of March 2022. "Immense stress," feelings of isolation and loneliness, and "political division" are major causes.
We cannot allow the kingdom of darkness to frustrate our pastors or bury our lights; they must shine.
God says, "Behold, I have put My words in your mouth; see, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out and pull down, to destroy and throw down, to build and to plant”. As a good soldier of Christ, let us heed our general’s rule of engagement, "Don't Negotiate with Darkness." God said "Let there be light," and there was light. (Genesis 1:3). And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness does not comprehend it. (John 1:5)
When your light shines at the peak, there will be a great outcome and an outstanding result that will make Jesus confess us before God. "Therefore, whoever confesses Me before men, he I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 10:32), and God will vouch for us likewise." "Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth—a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?" the Lord asked Satan. (Job 1:8)
