2 Peter 1:19 (Amplified Bible)
And we have the prophetic word [made] firmer still. You will do well to pay close attention to it as to a lamp shining in a dismal (squalid and dark) place, until the day breaks through [the gloom] and the Morning Star rises (comes into being) in your hearts.
2 Peter 1:19 (New King James Version)
And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts;
A. We heed GOD'S WORDS like a lamp shining in a dark place because it's the prophetic word made firm
"And we have the prophetic word [made] firmer still. You will do well to pay close attention to it as to a lamp shining in a dismal (squalid and dark) place,"
JESUS is the Logos in the Bible, the WORD is the LORD JESUS even in the beginning, CHRIST JESUS is already the WORD that existed from eternities of eternities and HE is GOD, was with GOD (became a human being) and was GOD Himself, He never changes yesterday, today and forever. The LORD JESUS CHRIST is Our Sure Foundation, - the Living WORD OF GOD.
John 1:1 (Amplified Bible)
IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is like a Lamp unto us because the world is full of darkness and seeing and focusing on JESUS will be difficult, because all people are living in darkness. You will be different from them and you will expect an attack from them, by persecution and insult.
John 1:5 (Amplified Bible)
And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].
B. Until the Day Star arises in our hearts.
"until the day breaks through [the gloom] and the Morning Star rises (comes into being) in your hearts"
Day Star or "phosphoros" in the Greek language meaning, "light bearing, morning star" from where phosphorus came from.
2 Corinthians 4:4-6 (Amplified Bible)
For the god of this world has blinded the unbelievers’ minds [that they should not discern the truth], preventing them from seeing the illuminating light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ (the Messiah), Who is the Image and Likeness of God.
For what we preach is not ourselves but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves [merely] as your servants (slaves) for Jesus’ sake.
For God Who said, Let light shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts so as [to beam forth] the Light for the illumination of the knowledge of the majesty and glory of God [as it is manifest in the Person and is revealed] in the face of Jesus Christ (the Messiah).
1 John 5:10 (Amplified Bible)
He who believes in the Son of God [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Him] has the testimony [possesses this divine attestation] within himself. He who does not believe God [in this way] has made Him out to be and represented Him as a liar, because he has not believed (put his faith in, adhered to, and relied on) the evidence (the testimony) that God has borne regarding His Son.
Revelation 2:25-28 (Amplified Bible)
Only hold fast to what you have until I come.
